Cervical Traction Wedge Pillow

Lifelong reader, here, whose cartilage between vertebrae are worn down from looking down to read. My chiropractor wanted me to buy an expensive wedge from her practice, but I found this little option ... and oh my goodness, it is nice! It's firm foam rather than hard plastic - which I prefer. The hard plastic cervical correctors are much to hard for me. I started with 5 minutes and have worked up to about 20 minutes now. I can tell a distinct difference with decreased stiffness in my neck, better range of motion (I also stretch), decreased tenderness, and fewer low headaches in the back of my head. I usually slide it under my neck after my first alarm in the morning and lie on it before getting up, so its primary use is in bed. I also lie on it on the floor during the day sometimes. I move it around to hit different pressure points. Feels so good. Have also used it just before bed and have fallen asleep on it several times. Recently recommended this to my dental hygienist who has similar neck problems from looking down all day.

Much smaller than I expected. The dimensions were in the photos and description, but I wasn't paying attention so that was my own fault to expect a bigger pillow. It is very firm, and that is what I hoped for, so that was a huge plus. The outer cover is very soft and perfect for sleeping. The crevice where your neck goes is too low for me though. I need my neck to sit higher and I turn it upside down so I'm sleeping on the straight edge instead of the curved part at different times during the night. I know it says to use it for only a little while but I am very comfortable using it in terms of discomfort on my neck. It is taking a while to get used to using this pillow as opposed to a regular pillow, as I am a side sleeper and it is pretty small. You have to turn over and stay in a very small space to stay on the pillow. My shoulders are squooshed, so I wish it was bigger or higher to accommodate side sleeping and still keep my neck and head at the correct angles. But if my neck and head stay in the right positions, as this pillow helps with, I wake up with no neck and shoulder pain. It will creep back during the day, but this is a huge deal for me. I have been struggling with this pain for years, before I even open my eyes. It keeps me awake at night and keeps me in bed all day. But some relief is better than none. I'm glad I ordered this. It's not perfect, but it does help.

I have my second one coming! It is so useful for multiple things. I use it as intended when my neck is sore but when it’s not I use it for various areas of support and it works so nicely and helps me to sleep better.

Not a comfort item. It just did not work for me. Sharp edge to place your neck and didn't support the back of my head like it should. It is nicely made and arrived very quickly. Just didn't work for my little neck.

Love love love. It stretches out your neck. Like going to my chiropractor for an adjustment. Sometimes I slant the pillow flat and it’s like a regular hard pillow which I also enjoy and can fall asleep with. Chronic neck and tight shoulder traps. One of my patients recommend it to me while working in the hospital.

So when I saw the glowing reviews for what looked like an overpriced wedge of foam, I was very skeptical indeed. But given the free returns policy and nothing better as an alternative, I bought this thing and started using it per the instructions to try to fix what was a really mess up neck (I couldn't even roll my head around my head without pain and let's call it "obstruction" of some sort). Started with 5 minutes, then 10 minutes, then 15 minutes regularly laying down on it (and listening to meditation to knock out two birds with one stone, check!). After one week, I could feel my neck didn't hurt, felt straighter and I could roll my head without obstruction, though still a little tenderness. One more week and whatever had been awry, was now fully straightened out - no more pain, full motion, feeling great. I now use it occasionally when I feel my office-days have been hard on my posture/neck, OR when I'm being good about doing my meditations, and I have not had an issue or pain in my neck since those initial two weeks. It is honestly and absurdly a miracle product for what it is, and it has fixed me beautifully with no need to visit a chiropractor or do anything else. And it will keep on giving because I can lay down on it whenever I feel the need to maintain the alignment in my neck - feels amazing. Would give 10 stars if I could!

Needed some relief for a tight neck due to a desk job. This does help! At first I didn't like it as it felt awkward, uncomfortable and a bit too "hard" for my already hurting neck. However, I noticed that it put a firm but gentle amount of pressure on my occipitals which then brought some much needed relief. I started out slowly, only using it a minute or so at a time until I got used to it. The key for me is to use it often for shorter periods of time as opposed to once or twice a day for longer periods of time. Also, I think the pillow needs to be in order to put the proper amount of counterpressure on those tight muscles and bring about relief. In a way it is sort of like having your own personal neck stretcher whenever you need it. Well worth the money in my opinion. I gave it 4 stars because it does help with some if the pain but not all of it, and also as stated, it isn't that comfortable, by design, but for those who need to know this I rated it as such.

Pillow has helped relieve neck pain and to gently stretch when needed.
