Have needed an impact wrench for quite some time. I bought this for working on tractor & mower. Worked great for getting tires off the tractor. Haven't gotten to taking mower blades off yet. It was worth its weight in gold!!! My brother says it has plenty of torque.

This was a no-brainer purchase. For the price it punches well above its weight, the Torque Test channel sung its praises, and I’ve had a great time using this for anything from working on the cars to installing framing shear wall hardware to installing steel pre-fabbed stairs. I’d recommend this one unless you are diesel mechanic or a professional mechanic who needs all the torque a hand tool could possibly have. Even then, this wrench could probably do 90% of your jobs with far less weight

Excellent mid-range impact. Has plenty of torque to accomplish the tasks I handle, and it does them with an unattached ease and convenience. Thinking my trusty old air impact driver is going to enjoy a deserved retirement.

Performed as needed & torque delivered was very adequate. Have used Dewalt in past & am satisfied. Deducted one star, as another reviewer noted, the sliding switch for reverse/forward is a bit cheap, does not feel like a solid slide with the switch that "takes" very well. Its only maybe a 3mm movement but compared to other brands, this does not feel solid or designed well. Also, the task light is mounted near the battery rather than on the anvil, like my other Dewalt drivers. It works but lighting can be obstructed on the task in tight places like i had to use this impact wrench for most recently. Again, as another reviewer noted, its annoying to change the light adjustment brightness button or the drive program buttons with the light shining directly in your eyes as you toggle through the functions. This was not well designed. I definitely think the task light location could have been better placed in the anvil area. Otherwise the weight, balance & design of this item is mostly well done. I needed a more powerful driver, hence this purchase & it delivered. Definitely has the torque for lug nut removal and beyond.

Strong impact. Got this mostly just to take off truck tires (I have a 2500) and trailer tires and it does so with ease. It’s also taken off a few stubborn axle nuts with no issue

I've had this impact gun for a while, and have put it through some things! I'm a professional mechanic, this is my go-to for higher demand needs, from removing wheels to caliper bridges and suspension parts. With 800 ft/lbs breakaway torque, there isn't much this thing can't do. You can select between 4 torque settings so you don't over tighten fasteners. I generally leave it on level 2, that's strong enough for most jobs without strips bolts out. The downside to that is, the lower torque setting is also a slower speed. So there's sometimes lower torque is handy, but low speed is a big drawback. I also like the belt clip it comes with. I can hang it on the side of my tool cart so it doesn't take up space on top. Or it's really handy to have it hanging on your belt or pocket to grab easily when putting European wheels back on that don't have wheel studs to hold the wheel in place before tightening it down. As far as competition, this impact bare tool costs less than the other big brand, and has more power. Overall, love this gun. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a quality impact gun.

Fantastic impact wrench. The only reason you would need something more powerful is if you work on heavy equipment or class-8 trucks, and even then you would only need a more powerful wrench on the largest fasteners. This DCF891 will handle practically everything a regular auto mechanic would need. Certainly everything a homeowner will need. And it's smaller and lighter than my old IR air gun. Amazing product. Mine came from Amazon in an authentic, sealed Dewalt box complete with a belt hook, exactly as it would at a big box store, but I have heard some received their only in a bag with no belt hook.
