This is hands down the single best surfboard upgrade I've ever bought. At first I thought this would be more of a joke and might provide a slightly different but insignificant experience, but boy was I wrong. On the first wave my Gerry Lopez hunk of foam sped through the face of the wave, cut through whitewater at the end, and for the first time ever I cross stepped. I've NEVER cross stepped or attempted to because I'm solidly an advanced beginner, but the transformation and feel of the board with this fin made it so I didn't even have to think about it! Next thing I knew I was stepping forwards to get more drive and backwards to put on the brakes. The perfect storm has transformed my foamie into a legit option that's super fun on the waves. This is the best money you'll spend if you can't get a hard board. Get it!

I have only been surfing for about a year and a half. One of the members from my surf club suggested I get this fin. I am not super handy, but was super easy for me to install. I finally got to surf it yesterday, and I noticed a big difference on my very first wave. It definitely provides a more stable platform to stand up for beginners, which gave me a little bit more confidence. It also seem to push the board a little faster. The turning? I’ll have to get back to you next year on that LOL.

Ordered the Perfect Storm fin for my Gerry Lopez foam surfboard and wow, what a game changer! This fin allows me to do a bunch more on the soft top - hang five, walk, cutback, etc. - while still retaining the super fun vibe these boards are known for - and the install with fin key was literally a few seconds. Highly recommend this fin for all soft tops...and have some summer fun!! Mb

This thing goes insane, I’ve been using one for a few years now on my wavesstorm and it has completely changed the ride for the better I can do full nose rides and get the speed and drive of a real longboard with the fun of an indestructible foamie that you can toss around with no worries. They also have top-notch customer service and will help you with any questions and concerns you have.

Board rides better but there’s a lot of play in the fin, laterally, no matter how much I tighten

Old system would still work but this fin makes it possible to convert the new Costco boards into a single fin without drilling through your board. Beautiful FCS fin tabs on the fin. Had a minor hiccup but the company was super fast to fix the issue. Highly recommended!

update: fin surfs great with more stability on bigger drops. nice to change things up on this otherwise staid board. Read instructions when installing! user error (not removing center screw in middle finbox) probably caused the fin to break off due to not sitting flush.
