If you are feeling a longing to be reminded of our True Nature, give this one a read. Read with nothing on your mind and you just might feel the energy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Living in the now *by R***N on Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2010* Syd Banks approach to "psychotherapy" is that you are already healthy. His three principles, Mind, Consciousness, and Thought; when applied can help people suffering from depression, anxiety, and other "emotional brain disorders". The primary thesis of his work is that when one is sufferring from depressive thoughts or other mentally incapacitating thoughts, the "patient" learns to realize that these are simply "thoughts". The thoughts are not reality and they only have power over a person if the person allows them to. In other words, once one recognizes that what ails them is simply a thought then they can elect to acknowledge it as simply a thought and not give it power to control one's feelings.Banks' philosophy is based upon living in the moment. The concept is that right now all there is, is this moment; the past is dead and the future is imagined. If we "worry" about what the future may bring or what happened in the past we are making ourselves sick. At any given moment we have everything we need to be happy and to enjoy life.It's beyond the scope of these reviews to really grasp the concept of Syd Banks work. I bought more than one copy to give to friends but will not gift them after reading my copy. It was clearly not written by Sydney Banks. The tone and languaging is completely different. I do feel that there should have been some recognition on the cover that this is not a Syd Banks book but a follow-up, written by somebody else. Also, I'm miffed that someone has to pay $100 to get a paperback copy of the original, written by Syd, Enlightened Gardener book.
