So stated on tag sewn into seam. **Q: Is this Tow or Recovery? Does it have stretch built into it or is it a tow strap with very little give?** A: It’s a tow strap. Not really a lot of stretch. Excellent recovery strap though! **Q: will the loop fit over a tow ball? and, is that one option of using this strap?** A: NEVER EVER USE A TOW BALL AS A RECOVERY POINT!!! They are not meant for the forces involved in recovery, and the two ball will very likely turn into a mini and very lethal cannonball. Invest in a hitch mount recovery shackle. But it is seems to be made of good quality sturdy material. It should be simple enough to use if hooked up correctly. Comes in a nice carrying bag so it is easy to locate amongst the rest of the gear. Ours was bought for off road trips if and when someone breaks down.
