I will say that when it does go off and makes a loud high pitch noise, it does make her stop barking because it startles her and the dog she is playing with. The sound is much louder than I expected. The neighbors can hear it. The only thing that I have a complaint about is that if she does her high pitched husky bark, it will not go off. She has to do her deep throaty shepherd bark for it to work. So in a sense, it only works about half the time.
