One way puts the hand loop right next to the dog’s head and the other puts the loop too far to reach, especially if you needed to grab it quickly. I had to wrap it around my waist because the extra length bounces and swings like a jumprope if the dog isn’t stretching it out all the way (pulling) which is totally annoying! However, I like having my hands free for jogging so with some adjustments it was marginally acceptable. Consider just getting a waist strap and using a leash you already have and like.
