This grafting pruner is all you need to take for tree grafting. Razor sharp grafting blades won’t crush softer scions and increase grafting success rate. The grafting blade perfectly cuts branches into essentially puzzle pieces, taking all the guesswork out of sizing them. I used the omega shaped blade, which the instructions said was "easier to use for beginners," and it seemed to leave plenty of the quick visible for what I hope will be a successful fit. The cellophane tape worked nicely. I just finished it off by wrapping the end in a little electrical tape to ensure that it wouldn't unwind. TBD on whether my grafts hold, but if they don't it won't be the fault of this tool.

I'm trying grafting for the first time this year, and bought these hoping they would make it easier than cutting scions with a knife. So far it works great! The grafting blade perfectly cuts branches into essentially puzzle pieces, taking all the guesswork out of sizing them. I used the omega shaped blade, which the instructions said was "easier to use for beginners," and it seemed to leave plenty of the quick visible for what I hope will be a successful fit. The cellophane tape worked nicely. I just finished it off by wrapping the end in a little electrical tape to ensure that it wouldn't unwind. TBD on whether my grafts hold, but if they don't it won't be the fault of this tool.
