## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this stick work on mac OSX?**
A: Yes, I've used on my iMac. I have quite an old OS (Snow Leopard... the best version of Mac OS), but I don't see why it shouldn't work on newer versions.

**Q: Does this work out of the box for PC or do I need to buy the "Universal Adapter"?**
A: This stick won't work with games that expect an XBox controller (for example: Street Fighter V for PC), but if your game supports a 'generic' joystick, this one will work fine.

**Q: Has anyone successfully modded this arcade stick? Some people say the buttons holes are too small, but what about the joystick?**
A: If you get Sanwa buttons you'll have to take a rasper or file or even dremel to the existing holes in the plastic shell. The stock buttons are about 28mm and most Sanwa buttons are 30mm. The lip of the buttons extend over the hole so if you're a bit overzealous with your modding, you still probably won't see any jagged cuts where you enlarged the holes. If you're throwing in a joystick, you can remove the pcb on the Sanwa stick, but I found it easier to just remove the metal plate the whole assembly comes attached to. From there, you can take off the restrictor gate and the microswitches and pcbs. Line up the black, plastic plate with the holes on your mayflash's plastic shell. The ones that line up need some modding on the joystick assembly. Take an exacto knife and cut into the small protrusions on the bottom of the plastic plate (the one that the microswitches and pcb sat on. Then you can cut down the original joystick screws by like half an inch or so and mount the base of the joystick. If you're not removing the Sanwa pcb then you need to cut or etch through the pcb to break the common ground connection. You. Must. Cut. Or. Etch. Deep. Period, if you don't you'll have the common ground still intact for some or all of your switches and they will register as the wrong movements. I used the existing wiring setup for the joy stick, but attached lengths of wire to the existing ground and power leads, soldered them, then wrapped them with electrical tape. Then I had room to solder them onto the ends of each microswitch. Each switch is clearly labeled so you can see which lead is which (COM = ground, etc) Wasn't too bad a mod, but I also replaced the Sanwa's 4 way gate with an 8 way. The mod costs more than the stick but far less than buying a more expensive stick. You can get away with EITHER doing the buttons OR, doing the stick. If you do one of the buttons, you're going to have to do them all because they sit over a pcb that makes the connection, vs sanwas and crowns that have 2 leads and an integral switch.

**Q: does this work with mame?**
A: Yes it will. you may need to use the tab menu to map the inputs to the stick, but it will work. Here are details on tab setup. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4dNttZbCHE&list=PL0CABFEF11F175A7A
