The dongle is fine, but you need a place for it to sit. It looks awkward hanging from the side of my laptop. If that bothers you, go for a hub that more securely attaches to your CPU (with no cord between the connectors and the hub unit). This hub, as advertised, is not powered. Thus, I am unable to run accessories that also need power supplied from my CPU by connecting them to the hub (in my case, a super disc drive). The hub is unable to supply sufficient power to the disc drive when it is connected. My external hard drive works fine through it, but that HD has a direct, independent power source. And finally, it does NOT allow for the use of RF device dongles in the USB-C ports (in my case, I wanted to run my wireless mouse through it). I didn't see that nugget in the specs listed here, but the tiny print on the booklet it came with does.
