I received the tool in a clear plastic bag. Is it authentic?

Yes, of course, the tool is authentic. All tools come in large boxes and do not come with retail packaging. The product is placed in a plastic bag to protect it from damage and place a label.

The head is loose. is this normal? other knipex i have a tight german tolerances.

There is some looseness in the joint which facilitates the functionality of the tool.

Does this arrive in manufacturing retail packaging?

This product should arrive in a single cardboard box inside the shipping packaging.

w Why is the style called "Drill Bits"?

That classification is an error. The TwinGrip pliers are slip-joint pliers.
