The magnetic mount is strong enough to keep an iPad securely in place. I have mine next to my iMac so I can use the iPad as a second display and use my existing keyboard and trackpad. But I also use it in the kitchen where dirty or wet countertops are not a concern. The stand includes a couple of Allen keys for assembly and adjusting the ball joint tension. Assembly is simple, three small screws hold the stand together. The base is heavy enough to keep the stand from toppling overs when the iPad Air is in place. Rubber cushioning sits between the mount and the iPad which prevents the iPad from getting scratches when mounted. A separate or additional cable is cable is required.The wireless charging portion is connected to a power module, but when the IPAD needs to be charged, you must either disconnect the charger cable from the power module and reconnect it ti the IPAD for charging, not a good option, or have 2 cables going to a dual power module. One for the wireless charger and one for the IPAD.
