Samsonite Classic Multi Gusset Toploader Briefcase, Black, Triple Gusset 15.6-Inch

Biggest messenger carrying briefcase I've ever seen. Lots of pockets. Sturdy build. Also delivered super fast, in less than 48 hours for 2 day shipping. I've only owned it for 24 hours and right now I am really impressed by the quality. For anyone who is curious - gusset does seem to mean 3 huge full-size separate zipper compartments. That's not including the front zipper pocket for pens and phone etc. There is also an additional zip up pocket on the back. I like it because you can stay organized without everything flying everywhere... because there are so many compartments lol. Update: I have owned this now for several days and I have definitely decided that this will be my primary bag!! Sturdy. Professional. Organized. It's the bag I've always wanted but didn't know was available in my price range. Super glad I didn't buy something more expensive just for looks because what I really need is something that is functional and flexible. You can cram a ton of sh*t in there if needed or you can keep it simple. Also, it looks very professional, overriding my previous desire to buy something more high-end that looks "nicer". This bag is plenty professional. I will be wearing a suit and gladly taking this bag to court.

I am so happy and satisfied that I bought this bag. I wanted a bag that would fit my 17" Laptop with power cord, 10" Tablet, 7" Kindle HD, work papers, and various writing supplies and eye glass case. I had purchased the Case Logic DLC-117 17-Inch Laptop and Tablet Case thinking that this would be adequate for my needs. But if you read my review on that bag, you will see that I was not at all happy with it. I won't go into detail about that bag since you can read it there but basically it was too small and I wanted one that would stand up on its own which the Case Logic did not. So I bit the bullet and spent the extra money on this one and am so glad I did. It really is perfect! Because it is a 3 gusset bag top loader, it stands up on its own and has more than enough room and pockets for everything I needed. Even with all of my things inside the bag which together is quite a bit of weight, it still feels comfortable enough to carry. The strap is of good quality and strength. For the current price of $46, you absolutely can't go wrong with this bag and you will love it for its versatility and looks. After all, it is a Samsonite and one would think that they would get it right when making a bag of any kind.

I bought this bag in April of 2016 and am finally reviewing it in July 2020. I think that's enough time to give it a fair review!!! I have used this bag almost daily for the past 4+ years. It has endured over 100 flights in overhead storage, under seat storage and probably several on lap storage. I cannot speak highly enough about it. The bag itself is still in great shape. The handles are only now starting to show wear which is why I came back to see of the bag was still available. It is, but I bought it for $45 and now it's around $70. It has just enough room, but not too much space that you overload your bag which then pulls your hand off when you are carrying it through an airport. The interior is still in great condition and nothing has torn or worn out. The zippers are good. It offers great padding for my Microsoft Surface Pro and has plenty of space and compartments for batteries, chargers, cables, etc. The attachment that attaches the bag to a roller bag is a bit stretched out, but I'm not exactly gentle on my bags. If I was to have one complaint, it would be about the shoulder strap. Honestly, it is not the most comfortable strap. But if you are wearing it across the chest, instead of on one shoulder, then it's fine. I would definitely recommend.

I bought this one because of the good reviews and the fact that it has "gussets": the webbing that keeps the bag from opening up in half. I have had bags without the gussets and too often the zipper would not hold, the bag would open, and all the contents would spill on the ground. This bag has gussets on all the compartments EXCEPT the middle one. As such, I usually keep the middle compartment completely zipped closed. I use this bag nearly every day and it has proven to be durable. The material is fairly easy to clean and the zippers have not yet broken or become jammed. A few minor design problems: the front, small pocket is very useful for keys and a wallet, but the carrying handle tends to fall into the smaller pocket interfering with the zipper. The shoulder strap can be length adjusted with the usual metal clip, but the strap material is too smooth and the clip tends to slip, so keeping the strap length set is difficult. An easy fix for this would be to use a metal clip with more friction. Finally, they should make the middle compartment gussetted just like the other compartments. Another problem that came up only after several months of use is shown in the attached picture. The zipper tab is small enough to get wedged in the strap clip making it impossible to zip or unzip on that side. The zipper tab can be disengaged only after significant effort. A very simple fix for this would be to use a slightly larger zipper tab. However, these quibbles aside, a durable and reliable bag that I would buy again.

I don't remember when I originally rated this, but I'm holding at 5 stars. I bought this bag 4 years ago and I'm honestly only looking to replace it now as a matter of vanity. The zipper on the very back, on the part that functions as a thick strap to fit over the handle of rolling luggage, is broken basically beyond repair. It was workable for a while, but it's dead. Otherwise the rest of the bag is FINE, literally like new, after 4 years of daily use at work, 5 days a week. This bag is surprisingly massive for being so compact. Each of the gussets has an inner fold that allows it to expand to accommodate the weirder items you might want to cram into it. I originally picked this one to accommodate the full width of a tenkeyless mechanical keyboard in the laptop pocket, which it carried like a champ. After moving from tech support to development, the same pocket fits my Macbook Pro perfectly, along with pockets for my charger, any other wires I may need to carry, an insulated stainless mug, a 7 day pill sorter, some flash drives, a pocket knife, a small medicine cabinet, multiple packs of sanitary wipes, the folder containing all of my divorce paperwork, a couple small notebooks and some pens, a Nintendo Switch, and whatever breakfast and lunch I packed for the day. With all that inside, I could still fit a bunch of stuff comfortably into it. At home, the bag is just the right height to fit into one of the square shelves of an IKEA Expedit or Kallax storage unit. In my car, it's just the right size to fit behind the driver's seat in the floorboard. In general, I stay busy and I'm constantly doing something. This bag has been just the right size for my whole crazy life.

Overall an awesome bag. Have used it for a few weeks now and it is made of good construction and quality materials. Read through all the reviews good and bad and you'll see some similarities popup that can either be avoidable or questionable on the reviewer's part. My 15" laptop fits perfectly and the bungee strap inside is nice but I don't feel you have to have it. I don't plan on using the SmartPocket luggage strap but from other bags I've had in the past this one seems to be sturdy in comparison. If you do give it a try, just note that some of the internal storage compartments do no have flaps/covers so if you're OCD like some of us it might be annoying to see (but they work perfectly so long as you're not going on a roller coaster with this thing.) Also, two minor design details, a few of my other bags in the past have had either a Velcro flap or magnetic handle coupler to keep the bale handles together (the picture could lead you to think it's a magnetic type.) Not really an issue but if you're used to those just know this doesn't have one. Also, if you're a fan of the internal mesh pouches for keeping devices, etc. secure, this only has a single zippered mesh pouch that has a divider in the middle. Not major just a difference from many other designs out there. Perfect bag! a lot better than the swiss one!!! This bag is extremely nice and big! you can fit a couple of lap tops and or books. For work I always carry a couple of folders books, laptop mouse and keyboard and all of this fits in here perfectly!! The bag is very well made and the zippers slide smoothly! I would highly reccoment this one anyone who is looking for a new bag that will definitely last the everyday use and will look both stylish and cool and serve a purpose. I have looked for ages for a laptop briefcase and I thought I had found the perfect bag in this Samsonite Classic Business 3 Gusset. I've had it for a month and have hardly used it. The bag has great reviews, lots of space, organization, center storage for added laptop protection, ballistic nylon, and luggage attachment. It looks as good as any other black nylon bag and has metal hardware. Now the cons: 1. The shoulder strap is horrible. It is narrow and cuts into you when loaded (no photo). 2. The handles are already showing wear with minimal use and the stitching is starting to fail/pull around one attachment point. This is a front handle and the reason is that it is sown into a seam and the job seems to have been done poorly (see the attach photo). At least one other reviewer pointed out this flaw. It is an in-built failure point. The rolled vinyl handles themselves are minimal and are already starting to show wear. I believe the other negative reviews that the handles won't last. 3. Finally, perhaps not so important is that the bag is promoted as ballistic nylon, but it is not where the luggage attachment is (see attached photo). Some cheaper material has been used there. May be I was unlucky with the handle. Check yours carefully when loaded to make sure it is sown in correctly and not pulling.

I am totally thrilled with my Samsonite Classic Business Three-Gusset Briefcase. It was 'so easy' to designate the various sections in the briefcase: textbooks, computer, binder, note taking materials. Even with all the supplies it was surprisingly light to carry, and there was room to spare!. The shoulder strap is also a great feature."Classic" it is!!

Bag with heaps of compartments, fairly good value

The bag arrived a day earlier than I expected, which was lovely. It also has a lot of space and is very smart looking, came straight from Samsonite. All in all, I'm very impressed with the build quality, looks and, practicality of the bag. Loving it!!!
