Review: Got rid of the drain flies in no time! - So I made the mistake of buying bananas and not eating them quick enough and i noticed those annoying little flies. I thought I had a fruit flies and bought traps for them. Well, the traps killed a bunch but each day there would be more. So, I bought another trap after the first one was used up. Same results. Finally, I noticed that a few of the flies started appearing by the bathroom sinks too so I did some further research and found out about drain flies and then about this product. So I put a little bit of this down each sink each day and this product did in less than two days what other products hadn't done in almost two months! This drain gel attacked the drain flies at their source and within days they were gone! This was definitely worth the money and worked great. I would recommend this product if you have to get rid of this annoying little pests. Review: No More Fruit Flies! - I bought the drain gel with the hopes of getting rid of an infestation of fruit flies in our home. I was already using bait and traps, but I had not been able to contain the breeding of the fruit flies. I had noticed baby flies around our kitchen sink so I thought they may be breeding in the drain. I used the gel in both sides of our kitchen sink and in our bathroom sink for two consecutive nights. This drain gel did the trick. I noticed a difference in the fly population almost immediately. I would highly recommend using this produce if you have fruit flies. The reasonable cost is an added bonus.

Keeps organic material from accumulating fairly well.
This product works as advertised in a basic home environment, although I understand in busy households how it may or may not be as effective. I was first turned on to this product while working as a barista in a coffee shop, and our closing procedure required us to squeeze a few seconds worth of this product into the sinks to prevent fruit fly accumulation. As it says on the label, it does do so by dissolving the organic material (which takes longer then you think) so long as it is used consistently. My usage for this product is the same, although the fruit fly control is a symptom of the buildup of yeast and bread materials that sludge and provide habitat for fruit fly breeding. One large squirt into the sink at night has always done the trick, and when used for prolonged time, reduces our need for clogged-drain cleaning products. My take on this Drain Gel is at four stars because for it to be used correctly, the sink and drain area must be dry enough so that the gel can coat the sides of the pipe and sit overnight in a semi controlled environment. Its strong enough to do the job when used correctly (as if that was a bad thing), but for busy kitchens this is a luxury to get a few hours of non usage. It could be a bit stronger, as there are some other products that are, but for a bachelor/couple living apartment/home, this may be all you need.

It's just okay...
It lessened the drain flies but I'm still seeing them every once in awhile. I thought that the gel could have been a bit thicker and wasn't crazy about the scent. It was not pleasant. A little too expensive, but I would use it again in a pinch, but if I could find something better, I would.

Good Stuff
This product does work. It took two bottles before I finally got rid of the drain flies. You have to use it every night. Then about a week after no more flies continue for 5 days. Trust me. It works.

Did not work!
I purchased this product with hopes that it would get rid of fruit flies that were kitchen sink disposer and it did not do anything. I figured the sink disposer was more dirty than what I though, so I gave it another shot and ordered 2 more to use over a two week period, pouring the solution every night and I had no results, and fruit flies were at it again. At this point, I was so desperate that I tried drano, insecticide specifically for sinks, vinegar with baking soda, and finally Clorox to no avail. Finally, nothing worked, but removing the disposer. Problem solved :-)

Finally something worked
It’s only been 48 hours and will update if things don’t last. But after using home remedies and other products, I think I’ve finally achieved success. Sewer backed up on Mother’s Day and while that problem was fixed ($5K) the aftermath of sewer flies/fleas gnats were as disgusting as the sewage. This stuff uses less so I wasn’t hopeful but omg 48 hours later and only 3 spotted, stuck on the stuff. Compared to dozens. Again will update but oh so hopeful.

My invaluable partner in the war against fruit flies
The fruit flies and I have been at war. I tried so many things, but nothing seemed to work. Finally, someone recommended this to me and then the tides of the battle turned. Used it every night for a couple of weeks and then got more to do weekly touch-ups. I also had a lot of luck with using sink drain covers in combination with this. I would pour the drain gel and then use the rubber slab of the drain cover to prevent any flies from leaving the drains and entering the kitchen at night to feed. I'm going on probably 3-4 weeks of no flies at all now!
