    Easy, consistently amazing results

Works awesome! No calibration, but my water temp was consistent and accurate. Used it twice in a row on a steak binge since unwrapping it and it's made the best steak I ever had...twice! These pictures are from my second attempt, 130.5*f and finished in a cast iron. Much easier, consistent and lower stress than normal protein cooking. I really love having it in the kitchen and look forward to using it. Pros: consistent, awesome meat. Stupidly easy to hit exactly the doneness you want. Prep is faster, cleaner. You have an hour+ leeway between done and overcooked. Only actually prepping and cooking for 10 minutes. Cons: cook times an hour, cast irons make finishing so much better you should really consider one, and cast iron ownership is a bit of learning (but not the end of the world to skip, it just makes searing easier than a nonstick)Edit: I cooked some eggs, which have very exact temperatures at which proteins firm, and it out performed my kitchen thermometer on the temp. I was shocked to find (using the eggs) my trusted meat thermometer was actually 3 degrees off. These also make actually palatable pork chops! A protein I had avoided like the plague until now. I've been using this about 4 or 5 nights a week - it's become as standard a tool in dinner cooking it sees more use than any of my pans, even.

    Best bang for the buck!!

Don't let the price fool you into thinking this is substandard.  It is everything as stated and worked like a charm. One reviewer stated that the propeller was making a noise  Mine did too until I descovered I had not put the bottom cylinder on correctly.  Be sure to match up the dimples with the correct positions on the motor head. This tool is as accurate as advertised. You won't regret purchasing one.After experimenting with fried chicken, I finally hit it right.  Traditional frying takes 15-18 minutes to get the chicken in the 165 degree safe zone and by then your coating is waaaaay over done and tastes like burnt toast.  I sou vide the chicken to 165 degrees and let it cool a bit and then put my coating on.  Now I have tender, juicy safe chicken with a crunchy golden coating with frying only 7 minutes.  Who says you can't have your cake and eat it too?  Move over Popeye!!

    Simple, inexpensive and very functional

I had an initial problem with this.  The plastic of the display face came off.  I was going to send it back but I figured the steam from the water had just softened the glue so I looked it over and decided to take a chance and fix it myself with a little gorilla glue.  Worked like a charm.  It seems to be holding in place just fine and the rest of the unit functions admirably.  This doesn't have connections to fancy phone apps to help you cook but to be perfectly honest, I think those apps are superficial fluff anyway.  Go online, find a sous vide recipe with cooking times and voila, you have great steaks, chicken and other things sous vide.  It holds a good constant temp and has good circulation.  I highly recommend it
