I recommend it only for a casual/amateur photographer, though... I would NOT recommend it to anyone that will be using it regularly - its made almost entirely of plastic, and I'm not convinced the collar locking screw would last very long. Also, the screw mount on the base - I'm not sure, but I don't think it's metal.
