What generation is my ipad pro (12.9 inch) model ml3t2ll/a?

I have an older iPad Pro 12.9 (rather big) and travel a lot, how well does the front cover protect the screen from getting cracked when packed?

Mine is solid and if packed well could prevent breaks. I would never pack it in checked in bags. However I do carry it in my carry on and travel tote. I was concerned about this cover but love it and would buy it again.
