Review: Great router with a very BIG flaw - I've been using eeros for little over 2 years now. So I have a solid idea on how they perform. Pros: - VERY easy to set up and use (almost too streamlined) - Connection has been consistent with decent speeds. I have gigabit internet and the wifi 6e eero can push it out like a champ... within 10ft of it. Speed drops significantly after that. - The app is slick and easy to use. - desertcart devices like echos can connect to it seamlessly CONS - Out of the box, the eero firmware is terrible. You much update it straight away for it to be useable. - After about 10ft, wifi speeds drop a lot. I have a 6E eero as my main and 2 other wifi 6 eero nodes that connected to it. The two eero nodes only pump out 60-100 Mb/s, which is 1/10th of my internet speed! And they arent very far from the main. - You cannot bind devices to a specific node at will. This is an issue with troubleshooting connections and with speeds. THE MAJOR FLAW: Eero has paywalled the most useful features behind a $99 / year subscription. Features include: - Basic parental controls - Basic network monitoring - Ad block I switched to an Asus zenWifi mesh system, which includes all these features FOR FREE.
