There is a $600 annual subscription fee to maintain current info and updates. I searched the reviews, inquired using the questions option, and asked Rufus if there was an annual fee. All responses were returned as unknown or no fee. I subsequently returned this scanner for that reason. I would have happily kept it if the annual fee was $200 or less. I have an update to share relating to my experience with this item that motivated me to change the review to 5 stars. The Autel service dept reached out to me and provided a satisfactory resolution to my disappointment. Veronica was very professional and helpful, and I am happy to report that I am an Autel customer once again. I have used quite a few scanners and I really prefer the Autel interface as one of the best available.
