He has sold 15 million albums and has honors to spare. So what more does the Colombian singer-songwriter aspire to? Well, there was his boyhood dream of becoming an astronaut… His latest album—marrying guasca and cumbia to classic rock—is an elegant, passionate collection of a dozen love songs; based on music alone, they rank among his best. It also has 12 accompanying videos, giving the songs a narrative visual track, with Juanes as an astronaut traveling through space and time to find the love of his life—traversing dreamscapes and forests, pursuing phantoms in tropical bars, down dark streets and drinking an ayahuasca brew to aid in his quest. I'm not a music critic so I'm not really sure how to describe it in those terms but the bottom line is the songs are great. To me they are very consistent with his style but still new and fresh. Just great music that will have you singing along. I've been learning Spanish for one and half years and Juanes is by far my favorite musician to aid my learning because (1) the songs are extremely listenable . . over and over . and (2) the lyrics are pretty easy to hear and understand. I am very much hoping that Juanes will do a US tour soon and I'll be able to hear him again in concert. After a week of listening, these songs are in my head. All 12 songs are connected by a story/movie 1 hour long. I love the rythm and it is great to see a new Album from Juanes and the Dvd is a bonus on top of the cd. The item description mentioned the Dvd was not included and had to ship 3 to 4 weeks but that is incorrect. I got the case which includes 1 Cd and 1 Dvd . The Cd has a beautiful metallic red mars surface theme and the Dvd shows Juanes as an astronaut floating in space. I loved the Dvd story / song videos and can't wait to start playing the Cd in my car. I recommend it . It is mostly in spanish but it also has 1 song in english. Also the included booklet has some nice space art. Great visual album.
