Nice design and the motion activation has a short range. This is actually nice so it doesn't open every time you walk by it or sit next to it on the toilet. Wave your hand over the sensor and it snaps open. Also has a manual open/close button. Now for the packaging. The box is a normal box but it was shipped without any protective box or bag. It arrived from 3 states over with a beat up box not even taped or securely closed. In fact it looked like the box may have opened and the top of the can had fallen out. It has a couple nicks and scrapes as if it fell on the ground. Not a huge deal since it is a trash can after all. But it is a 40 dollar trash can so it should at least arrive undamaged. Β I originally gave this a bad review- the light blinks regularly on a cycle and I used 2 batteries in just the first week. But those batteries must have been bad. The batteries do buckle when you put them in and you really have to work with them in order to get them to stay in. The ring that holds the bag is a little difficult to work with. Once you get the bag in the can, it creates a bubble at the bottom and the ring falls in when you try to work with it. However it’s small which I love and holds a surprising large amount of trash. It fits nicely by the toilet.
