My husband tried to sand down the top of the door, but to no avail.I thought this would help with the sticking. It did, but only sort of. It was A LOT bigger than I anticipated and since we have the head of the lady-bug facing into my daughter's room, it means that when her door is closed, all you can see is a lady-bug butt in the hallway. I don't necessarily feel like it does anything to help prevent the door slamming or anything, but that wasn't the reason I purchased it in the first place.We continue to keep it up because my daughter likes it. It is now part of our bed-time routine to say goodnight to the ladybug. It's not going anywhere, but I don't know how much benefit it provides, except as a night-time friend to our daughter.
