The photo looks like it shows the battery cap with the hinge on it, instead of a flat top that fits into the charger. Is the photo accurate?

This is the correct picture. There is not a hinge or cap on this battery. There isn't any flat area. There are spots on the bottom that allows it to slide on rails to connect to the base.

Does this include the bracket? I need just the battery.

It has been awile since I bought this but I am pretty sure I only got the battery not the clamp. I did not need the clam either.

Yes, I have the 6770 series ultegra but mine came with the external battery holder, works fine for me.

how do i get the battery out

There’s a latch that flips out, usually on the non-drive side. Then, there’s a small button to push in to release the battery. The battery slides up once released.
