It works perfectly for the Garmin Bike Mount Kit (watches) mounted at the aerobars **Q: Will it fit my profile design air stryke? measures just shy of the 2 3/4 (70mm) required.** A: You may need to "shimmy" the UCM a tad. The only problem I foresee is that you may incur a slight bend which could change the original calibration of the structural integrity of the Stryke. Having said that, the UCM is a fine after-market addition, but the "connecting-unit" band should rest on your aerobars, thus supporting whatever electronic you wish to use: if this band is compromised by having to both carry the load, in addition to the stress of being "stretched" right and left, this will probably lead to failure over the long haul. I sympathize completely, once you have decided on something to use on your bicycle, and it works for you, for we are a stubborn lot in this life, any addition may change the way your bike rides for you. And while Profile does make some very fine products, even spending the amount requested for the UCM, and then having it break on you, knock-knock, on a ride, thus damaging your electronics and your UCM, would be most unfortunate. I purchased it and it would not span the gap on my bike. **Q: Will this fit a Garmin edge 500 ?** A: no sure...i use it for a Garmin 405...it's more of a watch type design. The 500 looks pretty flat, will matter on how it connects on the back of the device. The bridge is universal and can work with many different types of watches and GPS devices. I wanted a sleek/aero and clean way that I could mount a phone/computer on top and GoPro camera underneath. My main bars are carbon fiber and flat (oval) so mounting on those isn’t really possible. This little thing didn’t look like much but it sure did solve my problems. Thanks to this little thing, everything is now mounted clean and extremely secure, with no wiggle or play and in the dead center so I’m not making the front of my bike larger in its wind footprint. I ordered the GT Jammer aero bars, but I was already running low on handlebar real estate to put a headlamp and my phone mount. I saw that Profile Design made this as well, but it was easier to order on Amazon since I was getting the aero bars there as well. I would say that when installing the bridge, I actually felt like it seemed a little flimsy/light and wished it was a little wider. However, after I got everything installed, I can't imagine it being any different. Fully extended, it's perfect for my aero bars and is very sturdy when bolted in. I put bar tape on the aero bars and now everything looks seamless and well planned. The bridge is wide enough for my phone mount and actually works out better because sweat no longer drips off my chin onto the phone now that everything is further forward on the aero bars.
