Don’t use the rails that come with it. They expand and contract like crazy, so the door often gets stuck with any weather change. I forgot to check all was well the other night after being exhausted, and sure enough the door stuck, my favorite chicken walked out too early in the morning, and a bobcat got her. Rails were replaced immediately.The actual device works only ok. It often “slips” so it takes much longer to open and close the door than it should. I haven’t found a way to reset this unless the device tells you there’s a malfunction and to reset your door and makes you recalibrate the door. And let me tell you how much I love recalibrating the door. In order to change the open/close time, you MUST recalibrate the door, because there’s no option to skip that step. It gets real old the closer it gets to spring/winter equinox when you have to change the time every weekend. Minor flaws causing such major inconveniences.RIP my brave gorgeous Noodle. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Read the functions carefully. Instructions are well done, step by step. I didn’t have room directly above my door opening to install according to instruction so I used a pulley. Time will tell on durability.Only gripe I have is just how easy the wood splits for the door frame. I predrilled the holes for screws and even slightly over tightening started to split them.
