The best out there
As far as I'm concerned these 80v series tools are the only battery powered tools for yard work for the serious user. As a teenager, I used to weed eat fence lines for 8 hours a day on a farm during the summer, so as a result of that trauma I'm used to getting a LOT of weedeating done REALLY FAST so I can do something else that I don't hate doing. I live in northwest Washington state and we have real hardcore vegetation here. These are the closest thing you can come to simulating a gas tool. A lot of manufacturers say that their equipment is same gas power but there is no comparison between 40 Volt and 80 Volt. If you word a battery powered tool too hard, the voltage drop will shut off the tool and you have to wait for the battery to recover some before it can start again. I haven't had a problem with these 80v tools because they're much more powerful and I use them hard. Initially, I was reluctant to buy these, but my mom wanted something light enough that she could use. We were both happy with them and kept them and have most of the other tools in the line including the chainsaw and the lawn mower and the backpack blower. In fact, the backpack blower is powerful enough to blow out my gutters, which is not possible with anything less powerful. The handheld blower that comes with this set is also pretty good I just prefer the backpack blower. I don't particularly enjoy yard work and this weed eater gets the job done Quick.

35 minute charge time
I tested the blower today after owning it for 6 months and on a full charge and full output, it will run about 12 minutes. It will run maybe another 2 minutes at about 80%. Then charging, it took 35 minutes from dead to fully charged. I have also used the string trimmer for 20 to 30 minutes, not running non stop, and never ran out of power. The biggest thing for me is not dealing with gasoline and trying to get a gasoline string trimmer or blower started. Typically with my occasional use I was replacing the gas versions about every 3 or 4 years. I can't tell you how many hours I wasted trying to get gas power tools started. With this rechargeable tool, I just take the battery off the charger and put it on the tool and pull the trigger. It's that easy. The next thing I would like us an extra battery so I can be using one battery while the other is charging. the only real question for you is how much run time do you need? If it's longer than the times indicated here and you can't have the downtime to charge, then you're better off with gas. Otherwise, you will not be dissappointed. The power level is comparable to it's gas counterparts without all The gas related hassle.

Easy to operate and long battery life
So far so good, love ease of use and long battery life! Blower is kind of loud to the ear but not so much to disturb the neighbors. I would recommend ear plugs.

Easy to handle
So far so good, battery good and I can use in my mower also. Blower is powerfull and Lighter than 2 cycle blower. Weed eater is comparable to any 2 cycle example. Havenโt run out of line yet so I havenโt replaced .

Like the battery compatibility and 80V power
OVERALL: The Green Works (GW) 80V trimmer and blower both work fine. I like that the blower has 3 speeds (plenty of oompf on high for the driveway/sidewalk, but also low for "dusting" out the garage. Also the trimmer has plenty of torque/power and trimmer line is easy to change/re-wrap. The line that comes with the trimmer sucks and will empty quickly, so get some good aftermarket line (.080 or larger). Batteries could last a little longer and be less expensive (glad the batteries come with these combo packs because they're overpriced when sold separately). The batteries do recharge pretty fast (but not fast enough when only 1/2 the yard is done and you're waiting as the rain clouds are rolling in... so get extra batteries if possible). COMPATIBILITY: Note if you also want the 80V edger (I did) you have to buy the "whole edger" (with shaft not just the edger attachment) separately, as this trimmer shaft and edger shaft are not compatible/exchangeable). So yes also bought the edger (which fortunately also comes with a 2amp battery, and an additional charger... both of which I needed anyways because the 2amp batts drain pretty fast and it's wonderful to be able to charge 2 batts at once). POWER: Definitely glad I went with the 80V products vice 60V or 40V. Also have the 80V GW, and don't think the 40/60V would "cut it" - pun intended, on wet or thick grass). 2amp batts are ok for blower/edger/trimmer (and lighter since you're carrying vice pushing), but for the mower you will need the big boy batteries (recommend dual 4amp or larger); certainly if you have a larger yard, or plan on actually using the self-propelled feature. BATTERIES: I appreciate compatibility of batteries (all 80V items can share same batteries), but going to try a cheaper battery and see how it holds up to the (as noted previously) "crazy expensive" GW batteries. Overall I like the GW products and not having to mix gas/oil, add fuel stabilizer, and change spark plugs or broken pull starters. And these are of course much quieter than gas so your neighbors will appreciate you.... but you can buy a lot of gas for the price of these batteries, will leave that choice to you. DURABILITY: TBD, only used a few times so far. Time will tell!

Powerful, Convenient, and Great for Yard Work
This combo kit has plenty of power for routine yard maintenance while being much quieter and easier to use than gas-powered tools. The battery charges quickly and provides solid runtime, and both tools feel well built and balanced. An excellent investment that makes outdoor work faster and more enjoyable.

Edited: POS! Thought spending up for the 80V battery would help. Not really
Super easy to use. String on the trimmer is a joke, though. Had my guy change out to some stuff from Lowe's. Said it cuts MUCH better now. However, he can barely cut the 1000sf or so of thin grass on a full charge. Battery life is atrocious. Blower fares only slightly better. The good news for us is that it will (barely) get us through what we need it for and then it's back on the charger. It is NOT a substitute for a good gas trimmer. But every "good" gas trimmer we buy craps out. I have several trimmers and a few lawn mowers sitting here. They all suck. Maybe we don't use them enough and the fuel sets up or clogs up. So, the electric is nice because it's low/no maintenance. But the battery concept just isn't there yet I guess. Decent power. Short battery life. EDIT: less than 3 months after buying it, the battery wont charge now. Flashes green for a while and then flashes red. So when it did work, it didn't last very long. Now it doesn't work at all. And for the price of a new battery, you could almost buy a new unit! Seems many people have similar issues. Wish I read through all the reviews. Seems like two people own these: the ones whose batteries crapped out and those whose batteries haven't crapped out yet. Amazon's listing for the CS is wrong. Will call Monday I guess. Wasting more time and money fighting with this.
