A Lot of Power in a Small Package
This is a versatile amp and effects modeling processor in a package not unlike an iPod classic. It is smaller than an average guitar pedal, and doesn't really work as a pedal, itself (there is a linkable footswitch, but I don't have that). As far as onboard controls go, there is a button to switch between the first four presets (which can be your presets if you overwrite those slots), and a jog wheel for volume control. You long press the button to turn it on and off. When paired with an app, you get a lot more controls. There are a wide variety of amp and effect emulations, and I appreciate that you can move the order of the models around. In particular, I like the ability to run compressors, delays, and modulations either before or after the amp emulation. It worked well for playing with headphones right out of the box. I tried it through a Marshall half stack, both through the clean channel on the front end, and through the effects loop. It worked better through the effects loop with the amp and cab emulation, but had a lot more bass than I wanted to start with. After poking around the app a bit, I found a setting to run it that way, and it was much better. I am not sure I would use it that way all the time, because I have a lot of pedals. I think I might use it more as either a portable practice tool, or most likely, as a portable effects source for portable synthesizer jams, for which it is very well suited. I appreciate that the initial sound you access by default is a restrained clean tone with some delay, which sounds great on any synth (I mostly tested it with an Arturia Microfreak). When you dig into the app, there are a variety of effects that are rather more suited to synthesizer sounds (in particular, ring modulation and an automated filter sweep), and the touch screen interface works on those better as something you are going to adjust in real time. I find the range that many of the effects rather too large for many classic guitar sounds, but as sound design tools for synthesizers, they are pretty great. The internal battery works well for DAWless jamming, since it doesn't need to be plugged in like other effects pedals, so it's a lot less fiddly for that. With just USB power supplies for synths, you can be ready to go. The app also features onboard features like bluetooth audio streaming, drum patterns, a tuner, and a metronome, which can be handy for both practice and creative routing solutions. I have recently tried some other products like this, and while this one is more app-based with fewer controls on the actual device, but as an all-around solution for creating my own sounds in a variety of situations, I like this one. Other ones designed to plug into guitar jacks provide similar sounds and features, but are a bit fiddlier to use in effects loops and for synthesizers, and I think that is where this one shines.

LOVE IT!
I am thoroughly impressed with the Mooer Prime p1! This will prove to be an indispensable tool for me. It has so many possible uses and simply sounds really amazing. I can use it as an entire rig (electric guitar, bass guitar, or acoustic electric) straight into my computer’s recording interface via 1/4” cable. I have also tried it in front of a traditional amp for using the dynamics, overdrive pedals, or even some of the modulation effects. I also like the results using it in the fx loop of the amp (after the preamp and before the power amp), getting some cool delay, reverb, and modulation after the preamp. And of course it could be used right into a PA at a live show. Or play it into headphones. What a useful tool! I really love that I can use it for not only electric guitar but bass and acoustic-electric as well. I think the Prime p1’s preamps and cabinet simulations sound fantastic, and there are a plethora to choose from. All of the effects sound great and can be arranged in whatever order you like. The iOS/Android app is very easy to use and connects to the Prime p1 via Bluetooth seamlessly. Within the app, you’ll have complete control over your setup and presets, and there are some other handy tools, like the looper, tuner, and drum machine. There is also direct recording into a mobile device via USB (haven’t tried that yet, but maybe I’ll use that feature one day as well). Be sure that your Prime p1 is on the latest firmware (go to “P1”, then “Settings,” scroll to bottom). The Prime p1 is a fantastic device that I would recommend to any guitarist or bassist.

A More Than Adequate Amp Sim Device With A Few Other Features Up It's Sleeve
The M2 Prime is a amp sim with some nice features. Does it match up to a Neural DSP or Fender Pro Master? No, but at this price point that was not my expectation. The majority of the presets were not to my taste but when I integrated it with the Prime app on my iPhone I was able to build out a number of satisfying amp and signal chains with the expediency of the phone’s touchscreen. Most of the amps and IR’s were of the high gain sort but I was able to dial in some cleaner style amps. The pedals offered up are adequate with several choices for dirt, boost and fuzz, modulated chorus, tremolo, phaser, flanger, and assortment of delays & reverbs. The one featured pedal I’m so glad they included is a noise gate which is a godsend if you are using single coil pups. The M2 Prime also has a small touchscreen that has a little less functionality than the Prime app but allows you to bring up a tuner, drum machine, volume adjust, and a looper that integrates well with the two foot switches. The bluetooth pairing works well and a USB C port serves for both charging the battery and On The Go recording. I typically get several hours of playing with a full charged battery and my MacBook recognized the M2 as an ASIO interface. My iPhone 15 with USB C port however does not recognize the M2 as an interface and throws a pop up stating the device draws too much current. Other than that little hiccup this is a very satisfying amp sim device for it’s price.

Wow
I was sceptical, but I thought I would try it for the price. It can do a lot. Through the app, you can control the mix, and the drum loops and looper can sync together. For such a portable device, the functionality is amazing. IMHO, only about 1/4 of the effects are worth using. Half of the delays have a weird doubling artifact, and are only accidentally useful for a kind of Van Halenesc tone. The AC30 model is disappointing. It doesn't have the correct eq controls and sounds very dark, but the orange models can be used to get a good AC30 facsimile. To my ear, most of the 4×12 cabs sound weird, and the 1×12 cabs can be used to sound like a more real 4×12 cab. The Plexi, for example, works well with a mesa style 1×12 can along with a slight flanger and a healthy reverb to create a generic 80s Eric Johnson/Joe Satriani sound. The touch wah is absolutely fantastic when you want your guitar to have that funky quack. In conclusion I was able to get good tones for Brad Paisley, John Meyer, Guthrie Govan, Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, and a decent John Petrucci(still working on that one).

Is that an SD30i in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
Mooer has done it again. This little box is a great solution for practice (headphone jack) or plugging into a mixer/PA. If you are familiar with the Mooer iAmp app (for use with the SD30i and DH05i) you will be ready to go with the Prime App. The app connects to the Prime P1 via bluetooth and allows you customize the sounds and switch between presets. I did use it with the GWF4 wireless foot switch. That really helps control the looper, drum start/stop, and allows you to switch between presets without having to tap the phone screen. --(I did download the Prime App on my phone and iPad Mini, I like using the iPad with the iAmp because the screen is larger and it is easier to set controls. The Prime App opens small on the iPad. I wish it would open full screen.) There are tons of modeled amps, effects, tones, and other setting to customize. Once you get things setup you can share tones through the app with other users as well as download different effects to your Prime P1. I am really enjoying the way Mooer has set up the apps to work with their amps. This Prime App is no exception. I am curious as to why it has its own separate app, when it is basically the same as the iAmp app. It would be nice to have one app set up with preset patches that could be used across the Mooer Amp family. Still, this "headphone amp" on steroids is a powerful tool for shaping sounds, setting up patches... and you don't have to carry a pedalboard or amp. Simply slip the Prime P1 into your pocket and plug in when you are ready to go!

Serves now as a fixed pedal and paper weight.
Paper weight. I bought the P2 a couple month's ago. It really blew my mind with the crazy amount of features it offered. Multi cabs, multi amp, multi pedals. I loved it much I ordered the bluetooth pedal too. I tweaked a bunch of programs with custom settings. Gigged regularly with it. Got my rig already to practice before tomorrow 's big gig. Linked the P2 to my iPad and then got the message to update at the Moore site. (No link to the site provided) I was dead in the water as you can not change the P2 sittings without a linked device. That means no looper, no drum machine, no real time tweaking, I could use only settings I previously entered. Spent the next four (yes 4) hours searching for the site for an update. The Moore site I did manage to find had updates for a number of their products but a search of the site resulted in nothing related to the Moore Prime P2. Tried to contact Moore Support. Site wanted verification code. Code entry site had letters and numbers faded in box, would change but would not send my detailed description of the problem (another 45 minutes wasted) oh yeah, guess I can use the bluetooth pedal as a paperweight too, so there's that.

Versatile Practice Modeler for Bass, Electric and Acoustic Guitar
I was looking for a multi-effect setup that was portable, as well as something that would work with bass guitars. There really aren't a lot of budget bass versions available. I saw a couple of reviews, mostly around guitar, but also saw this had firmware for basses as well. That sold me. When I got the device, it also had firmware for acoustic guitars well. First off, this really needs to be controlled by your phone or tablet. Other than clicking through four effects and setting the headphone volume on the device itself, the mobile (phone or tablet) app really is needed to adjust things. It has nine banks with four presets each. It's easy to go through the different effects, make adjustments, and even change the chain order. Bass mode has a split chain as well. I've used the device hooked up to my PA speaker, FX return of my amp, and via headphones. All work really well, and I love having the ability to hook up headphones and play "quiet". The tuner seems to work well, and has drum and looper options. For what I was looking for, this meets all my needs. I want to find a belt clip to make it easier to carry around while playing. One thing I do suggest is also picking up the F4 pedal. This will let you switch between banks, choose between presets. The pedal has the option to use the tuner with it, but it's not the easiest to use like that. You can also control the looper with the pedal. The pedal makes it easy to use without having to look at your phone to change things. So far, I am quite pleased with all the options this little device has!

I really really wanted to keep this
Excellent unit, great design for practice and portability. You do get a significant downgrade in FX quality and overall sound quality compared to their higher end units, but the sound is more than good enough for even improvised gigs. Tools are very useful (tuner, looper, mixer, etc), bluetooth playback with the mixer makes this unit the best practice tool I have ever had for guitar practice! NOTE: the looper has a small delay between pressing the switch and recording making it unusable, Las to stop recording and start play, I figured how to make it half usable by enabling Rec on input signal and stopping Rec at switch pedal off, but they should fix this on Firmware update! Over all it is still an amazingly useful teaching, practice, and, learning tool!

Excellent little processor.
I can’t believe how good this is, very easy to set up and very easy to use. I no longer do live gigs anymore, I play for my own enjoyment at home these days. I have it plugged into a pair of active PA speakers and my guitars are connected wirelessly. I have the app on my iPhone and I have the Bluetooth pedal to control it. I now have the sell my very large pedalboard and my Headrush Floorboard. The best thing about the Prime P1 is that I’m up and running in a few minutes and if I want I can sit on the settee with just a little 4 switch wireless pedal by my feet and no cables. I would definitely recommend this. Now the downside. I’ve been a customer of Amazon for may years and on the whole I’ve been very pleased, however I ordered one of these and when it arrived the box had quite clearly been opened. I was convinced it had been used, tried to register it with Mooer but they didn’t send me a code to do so. I contacted Mooer and said I thought it may have been used, they reset the password and sent me a code. I requested a return and reordered it only to have the same problem so I sent it back for a refund. By the way the second one was a lot older than the first one. I ended up buying one on eBay, I’m glad I persevered.

A toy - I returned it.
Look, it's a great price for what it does but it's very very digital sounding - there's no getting past it. I'm a kemper user and was hoping for a smaller gigging solution but really.. it's a toy. To be fair it's cheap enough.

Defective device and no response from support
As others have notes the package seemed to have been opened when I got it. When plugging the unit into a charger it was just flashing and did not charge (despite the iOS app claiming battery charge it immediately died when removing the cable). Sent a mail to their support. Have not received and answer.
