Received... It cools what i wanted it too!
9/14 just received simple assembly. You can immediately notice when cool is on... Strong air flow but cooling is ok... I'm trying to cool a townhouse which is a small apartment sized place while you feel it's trying to cool the 200+ price tag is worth it. Also them waiting a day to just put on a few cardboard strippings and finally ship it was annoying order it on Tuesday morning but it wasn't shipped till Wednesday. I'm glad it arrived today but still. 6 hours later... Humidity is virtually gone but overall it cooled ok as mentioned earlier I was hoping to cool down a townhouse. It delivered to an degree but not exactly what I wanted but since my PC gaming usually warms my room up a lot I'm gonna keep it. Noting the specs it's designed to cool a space up to 250ft max 350ft. I didn't expect huge results for more area but I should be seeing some sort of effect in larger areas imo... Probably better with a circulator fan. 9/14 (update) So this was worth the wait it cools down the whole townhouse. It's more than 350 Sq Ft obvious that it's not as effective but it takes the edge off the heat of a 80-90° day. I PC game so my room gets warm but not with this xD. I recommend it. 10/8 After about a months use the filter is dirty but cleaning is simple however its not too dirty and since I'm gonna have a few more warm days I'm gonna let it slide its easy to clean! The filter quality is OK since its thin it won't filter much out the air but considering some the air goes outside that might be OK. To clean it you just rinse it and let dry once its dry you put it back in! To take it out there's a easy to pull out tab at the bottom right in the back of the AC its a bit tricky to put back in it. However, the filter doesn't seem fragile but the hose definitely is... Since summer is over I can't comment on the water tank considering I'm living in a humid area but this fall was warm and so far this AC cooled it down well. I don't like dry air so never used "dry" setting might use it if I'm planning on working on my PC components. 6/29/19 So for winter I just simply put the box on it and now it's summer everything is working as it should. I recommended it to friends. Now I will list my pros and cons... Pros: ease of use/clean Effective cooling even cooling areas larger than it's designed to. Portability if you can roll it it can go there! Fan circulation is decent. Cons: the basics you need a window, a hose, and empty a tank if you live in humid areas The hose is the biggest weakness it's short so can't really move it around too much not only because of hose length but also to not mess up the hose. Loud but tolerable.(also didn't try sleep yet) I can live with the cons for a cooler house. So overall satisfied.

Name brand - No need!
A remote control was included! Pleasantly surprised by that because nowhere in the ad, including the pictures state that it comes with one. Before this purchase, I was contemplating other portable a/c's because they included one but for a few more $. Since these aren't inexpensive to purchase, I elected to purchase this make and model despite not having the remote control (so I thought) to save a few $. Also noticed that my unit has a dehumidifier, which again was NOT mentioned in the ad or shown in the pictures. Instead it shows "Auto" mode in the place of "Dry." So this unit is 3-in-1 with A/C, Fan, and Dehumidifier. After hooking it up which takes no more than a few minutes - I finally turned it on and wow this thing blows cold and strong! Only two speed settings of "Low" and "High" but in my opinion the Low setting is pretty strong. Also it's not necessarily quiet but at the same time not loud so don't be expecting a whisper. And the sound I am speaking of is the blowing air, the a/c compressor itself is quiet. Pretty basic A/C, Fan etc. Doesn't turn on or off according to reaching a specific temperature which would have been the icing on the cake, but can be turned on/off by timer in 1, 2, 3 etc up to 24 hour increments. Weight isn't heavy too. Approx 40+ lbs so can easily be lifted room to room as well and is on casters. Very happy with this A/C despite being an unheard of brand. Heatwaves this summer I don't need to dread from now on. * If you purchase, I recommend buying insulation wrap/sleeve (approx $10) for the vent hose. The heat passing through the vent hose radiates about 100-115 degrees Fahrenheit which will warm up the room you're trying to cool. With mine wrapped, it lowers that significantly and now measures approx 75 degrees Fahrenheit * * I also recommend pointing the vents upward toward the ceiling for even spacial cooling. Heat rises, cool air drops. Though the a/c works great with the vents pointed toward the spot you're trying to cool, just not evenly such as in a living room like I am using this for. * Recommended for small/medium areas. Happy cooling! ********UPDATE ************** 2 years + later = it still works great for my small spaces. I keep it in it's original packaging to store it during the off seasons and never do I tip it to keep it optimal condition and performance. Another tip - use an oscillating fan directly in front of it and it will push that cool air around your space. *********************************

Comes well packaged. Works as advertised but really loud.
Comes well packaged. I like that is isn't too massive once you take it out and set it up so it can roll. It generates cold air well, everything works. I wouldn't mind a third setting for extra low on the fan. My only real regret is the noise. Great if you need strong white noise, not great if you don't. If sound is not an issue for you, it's a good A/C for the money.

Cheap and gets the job done. Just do your research to make sure a portable unit like this is suitable.
Did alot of research online and chose this portable unit. Live in the Upper West Side in NYC and our building does not have AC -Found that out after singing lease :( - Pleased with the purchase. It does everything you expect and was a dream to setup. Pros The packaging was very good and it was not damaged in shipping. The unit is VERY easy to put together. The controls are fool proof and very easy to understand. It blows cool air (duh) and does a generally great job keeping the place cool. Cons The unit is kind of loud because it only has two fan settings, not suitable for close proximity to a beds (For anyone who is a light sleeper) Not a con but the exhaust hose is a few feet long and rigid, therefore the unit can really only be a foot or two from a window. If your window is high (more than 2-3 feet off the ground) you will need to get creative on how you setup unit. The power cord is kind of short, hopefully you have a plug within a few feet of your window.

Does not cool area DON'T BUY - DON'T BUY - DON'T BUY -
I purchased this CCH YPLA-08C Portable Air Conditioner to cool a well insulated small 10' X 10' work shop. When I received it I seem that the air conditioner had no protective plastic wrap and the same for the exhaust hose. You will see this typically on items which were returned then resold. Meaning NOT NEW. I have read all the positive and negative on this unit. It is small and not loud however will not attempt to cool my 10' X 10' shop. This is only a 8000 BTU but should show signs of cooling 100 SF area. I tested it for two days. Outside temperature at around peak 98 degrees. Since it is a well insulated shop the inside temperature is at least 10 degrees plus cooler in the shop without air conditioning. Shop area only 100 SF. Unit should have nicely cooled it. With my experience the shop temperature should have at least lowered down to 75-78 degrees. First day I ran it in the morning to night checking the shop temperature every 2-3 hours. The shop temperature was holding at 86 degrees all day with the unit running overtime. I purchased this so the shop will maintain a comfortable working temperature. It did not work for me. Advertised as cooling up to 250 SF BS. In the shop at testing did not have machines running or the lights on which will create heat. Windows do not exist so air does not enter or exist and the unit was correctly vented to the outside. Even vented to a cooler covered area. All I need to say now is DON'T BUY. I am returning this NOW.

Cool But Loud Loud Loud
I was excited to receive this item. I wanted it to work perfectly but unfortunately it’s not right for me and my needs. The unit is very loud, even on the lowest setting. I’d need to turn up the television set uncomfortably loud in order to operate this on the lowest setting while watching tv. That wasn’t feasible to me. In fact, I was able to hear from a different room in the home when this ac was operating. That’s true on the lowest setting and exponentially true on the high setting. For those who can handle the noise, the unit does blow cold air and a lot of it. Still, the room never felt air conditioner chilly, even when the outside temperature was only around 70 and the ac operated on its lowest temperature setting. Note: I refused to run the unit all day because of the noise. It’s also possible that i received a defective unit. In closing, I wanted this unit to work well for me because of the price point, but there were far too many flaws that I could not overcome. I cannot recommend this unit for the reasons i stated above. However, if it’s the only ac you can afford it could be a blessing.

Works great, setup was kind of a pain though.
First off let me say the only problem I had was setup. The holes on the panel were on the wrong side for my window which is fine because I just drilled my own. But I don't understand why there aren't holes on both sides for convenience. Another thing is I had to cut the panel to length so it'd fit in my window. Lastly, The connector on the vent hose both sides came off as I was installing and were a pain to get back on but eventually did. There were some air leaks at both ends of the tube but duct tape fixes everything. For the price I'm okay with that, simple enough. Now, does it work? Yes, and it is amazing. Which is why I'm still giving it 5 stars. I'm only cooling my bedroom but it's where I spend the majority of my days off and in the summer when it's hot it's ice cool in my room now and I can't love it enough. The remote is just a remote. It works great. I'm a simple man. Another side note is after delivery as others have said you need to let it sit for 24 hours so the coolant settles. Make sure to follow the maintenance and clear the filter every 2 weeks and drain if you're using the cool setting. Other than the setup, no complaints couldn't be happier.
