Power flows from the panels to the battery, not from the battery to the panels. That said, you could install the diode if you want to **Q: What is the "continuous" amps output for 2 x 100w panels in parallel?** A: The nature of solar is you will not get a consistent continuous amperage. This system is best utilized to charge a battery or set of batteries. Then if you are drawing some power, you are still getting a steady amount of power. By basic math, one would get about 16.6 amps at 12 volts in the best sun conditions. On a spring day in sunny Quartzsite, Arizona, I did get close to this output with the panels leaned against the side of the trailer and manually oriented to face the sun every couple of hours. This charged my single RV battery from half charged to full in a couple hours of direct sun.
