I bought a copy for myself and for my husband. We would read a chapter or so a night then talk about the questions and things in the. Chapter. Really a great way to spark conversation and remind you what’s important in your marriage and how to communicate. We’ve both made our share of mistakes and been married 35 years. We were in a rut on the inside even though to the rest of the world we looked like the perfect couple. We wanted to actually BE that! We shed a lot of tears, got angry over each others mistakes and are working through the hurt, anger and all the other emotions that come along with that! But - is it worth it? For us yes. We decided we still love each other and want to rekindle the spark. It’s been about 9 weeks and we’ve really both seen tremendous change in each other and are committed to talking every single day about ourselves, our marriage, and all the things you talk about when you’re dating or engaged. The things that got lost. No the book didn’t solve everything. There’s still the hurt, guilt, anger and sadness. But it’s managed and we know how to support each other when those moments come up) (ie: your watching a movie and there’s a scene that’s a reminder to what one of us has done) and instead of ignoring it or becoming defensive we pause the movie we talk and sometimes cry or let the anger out - and we work through it now. It takes work and commitment but if you want to repair the relationship it’s a really good book!!!!
