The lid is thick plastic as well, so if you set something on top, it wouldn’t break the eggs. Great having this as some of the cartons eggs come in are flimsy and difficult to open. It’s a great value for the money. Wish I’d bought 1 sooner!

**Q: Do these hold jumbo eggs**
A: Yes, I just got mine yesterday and jumbo eggs fit, no problem !

**Q: Does the lid snap on or just lay on top?**
A: eleven and three quarter inch

**Q: What is measurement not including the handle?**
A: Without measuring the handle it measures 12 & 3/16 long x 4 & 1/2 wide x 2 & 7/8 high. It's just the right size for me. I ordered the 12 egg holder and do not use the lid and can easily stack an other 6 on top, to hold 18. I felt the others would take up too much room. I like the idea of just reaching into my fridge, grabbing eggs and not having to pull out the carton, open it up take out eggs, close carton, put carton back in fridge.
