My daughter is really into superheroes and Paw Patrol so naturally, she took to this series of book. What she likes most about this book in the series is that it showcases Ladybug Girl’s “superhero” prowess. No spoiler here, but, she does feel bad for the squirrel who looks “so cute.” Our bedtime routine usually consists of three short books and five songs before bed. What I like about this book is that it is just long enough that I could get by reading just one book prior to the songs. I am all for the Biscuit series, but I just can’t “woof” 43 times a night. I also like how this book teaches how to cope with frustration and how to promote compromise. It’s better to work together than to fight one another. The way that they highlight the names of the “heroes” is very beneficial as well. My daughter can recognize the names and associate them to the characters, which has helped her with associating letters to words to objects. She can even recognize Bingo’s name, which is not highlighted. Overall, her and I both love the series. The quality of the book is high for both content and structure. The paper is thick and glossy, and the artwork is quite colorful. A+ on the toddler scale. Review: Cute book. Terrible packaging by desertcart - Love the book!! Reminds me of my son and his best girl friend. They have the same conversations, play the same games, and make the same expressions, it’s so relatable. I have heard some of the lines from the book come right out my son’s mouth, “we work together to fight bad guys!” Unfortunately this book, that I ordered as a gift and paid extra to have delivered quickly, arrived with a torn and crinkled cover. A replacement will take 7 days to arrive and won’t get here in time. Gifting damaged books sucks. The book was shipped in a box waaay too big for it and had other items included with zero stuffing to keep it all from moving around. The book had zero chance of arriving in good condition. The text is simple yet entertaining and engaging. The details are sharp and effective, like Toni Morrison. The story-line completely captures the magic of being a kid, the excitement of childhood adventures and the turmoil of navigating the unfamiliar rough seas of learning social skills. The characters are empowering, brave, reflective, and imperfect. Children can easily see themselves in the characters and then learn how to handle situations when they make a mistake or are afraid/uncertain what will happen if they confront the conflict. My 3 year old loves these books and I love buying them for her. I change a few things, like "bad guys" and "mean" but that's just my own peculiarity. These books are true to childhood games.
