The handle is metal, very sturdy, and on the heavier side, which I love. The 7 blades are unmatched. It's really easy to clean the hair out of it. Just put it under running water and the pressure does it's job. 1 cartridge lasts me forever and this whole set is basically a year supple for me, and even longer. But again, it depends how much and how often you shave. As woman I do not like female razors.
