As a Therapist who works with children, adolescents, parents and dual families this book teen book (all123 Magic material model) is great to assist parents(teachers) in reaching their kids. Reminding parents of their role in the home, reestablishing trust, boundaries, fun, and rules between the family members. Establishing a helpful co-parenting approach to a healthy dual family homes. This book has great advice that actually works
Teenage years can be interesting for both parents and teens. Your teenager wants to be more independent, but you worry that he might fall into peer pressure and not always make the best choices. This book teaches you how to communicate and guide your teenager into adulthood. It helps parents understand what is normal teenage behavior and when you might need to intervene. There will definitely be less arguments between you and your teenager if you follow this book. But, be prepared, as a parent, you will need to learn to let minor things go and change your behavior as well. The result will be a much calmer and happier household for both you and your teenager.

My husband and I are reading this to help us with out first teenager. As of right now, we have found it very helpful and informational.. It is also great for parents who are divorced and raising a teen.

Great book. UT, this book I already had under another name. I have two now. I wish the ad said "this book previously had different title." Awesome book. Magic 123 worked like a champ but now I have a teen. his helped me not to take things so personal. About to start this program, hopefully this will work as well as 123 Magic. Again, this book was advertised under another name.

Actionable advice
I have his first book when the kids where younger, and that was very helpful, Hence why I bought this one, and it’s okay, more for late teenagers then 13 year olds, but still good tips and advice.

This was a good perspective on how to understand teens and parents who love them.

Start with the original 1-2-3 Magic before digging into the Teen version
Make sure you read/listen to the original 1-2-3 Magic first, even if you have older teenagers. I started with the the Teen program first, which helps to remind parents what it's like to be a teenager, to help parents put their teen's behavior into perspective, and explains that we shouldn't take things personally. However, I feel that 1-2-3 Magic Teen didn't give parents the 'tools' on how to modify the teenager's behaviors like the original 1-2-3 Magic did. Once I subsequently purchased, listened to, and implemented the original 1-2-3 Magic program, then I started to see behavior changes in my teenagers.

Practical advice for parents of teens.
This is a very practical book that I recommend for all parents of adolescents. In fact, I present seminars and workshops on this topic, and this book is my "Bible" on the subject. Dr. Phelan's organization also provides lots of support materials to accompany this book.
