The Fellowes Star Plus Comb Binding Machine is an easy-to-use, light duty comb binding machine for the small office. Manually punches up to 12 sheets at a time and binds up to 150 sheets with a 3/4-Inch comb. Vertical document loader ensures consistent punch alignment. Review: Great binder machine - I purchased this product to bind a cookbook I was making for our +50 church group. It worked as expected. Easy to operate and I like the compact design. I purchased the Fellows brand as i know that is a brand that produces quality products. I was 100% satisfied with this purchase.
Review: Works well. Reasonable cost makes it practical. - Years ago I bought a binding machine to use at school and it was hundreds of dollars. When I wanted one to use for Sunday school classes I dreaded the cost. I was pleasantly surprised at how the cost has come down all these years later! But does it work as well? Yes! I used it this week to assemble books for our preschoolers. We used card stock so I limited to punching five pages at a time. You can then add the pages together to bind all of them. It might have been able to cut more pages but it just wasn’t worth the attempt to me. We had a ten page book so it was easy to just divide in two. The top loading to punch is a little more awkward (to me) to load than the front but the small inconvenience is worth it for my purposes for the sleek fold down cover. Very easy to store. If you are using a binder constantly for a business or doing hundred page documents you probably would be happier with a more heavy duty machine but for home, school class, Scouts, etc this does the job.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you use wire combs**
A: I found an answer from Apr 4, 2015 - Chris C. wrote, "This is a comb binder only, you would need to purchase a specific binder for wire. One we carry and recommend is the Fellowes Quasar Wire."  Another person said this binder is for plastic combs only.

**Q: Will this machine punch through a laminated document/page?**
A: Not very well, I've had this machine for a year and when I try to punch through laminate sheets it doesn't cleanly cut through it and then I have to get a scissor and cut off the still attached pieces.

**Q: Can I use this to add more pages to a book I've already put together? Or is it a one shot thing?**
A: You can add more pages but it's labor intensive.  You have to remove the current binding, add the pages and rebind.  You may be able to put the book and binding back on the machine, carefully put the new pages on top and close the binding up again.  This also depends where in the book you want to add new pages since you will have to manually put on the backend wherever you are in the book.

**Q: Will the book that results lay flat? This is what I need for binding music, which then will go on a music stand.**
A: Then bind them at the top!  That's all i can think to do.  It's really stupid that music is 1" larger in each dimension.  I'm having the same issue.  I wanted to scan the book so I can use it on my computer as a pdf, still too big!

This is truly is a wonderful and easy product to use. The quality of the product is great. I'm a Realtor and when I use this to put property profiles of the homes I've scheduled to see.
