Dayton Audio BSK2 Dual Bass Shaker Couch Kit

I was very skeptical about adding this bass enhancement kit to my surround sound system, thinking it's just another gimmick. Not only was I wrong, this kit, once installed and adjusted to your liking creates another level of realism to your movie and music enjoyment. I really like the fact that you can adjust the level, turn it on or off remotely or manually when you don't need it. Two bass modules (one attached to each seat) will be more than adequate for the average individual. I also added the Dayton Audio Wave-Link system, which makes installation and setup a breeze. The transmitter and receiver are about 15 feet apart, so I'm not experiencing any dropouts. Time will tell how long this system lasts, but for the moment, I'm 100% satisfied and a believer...can't wait for my next movie night!

This kit has all you need (except for maybe some extra speaker wire) to convert your home theater seating into an active part of your movie watching experience. The base shakers are easy to secure onto the wood frame of your sofa (flip, open the dust cover and screw on), but you'll want a staple gun to secure the wire and reinstall the dust cover. My recliner was trickier, but looking on the internet for ideas, I secured the shaker to a plank of wood and zip tied that to the spring support of the seat. Amazingly, the one base shaker in my sofa is enough to send vibration through multiple seats! The amp is powerful enough and the balance control can allow you to shift the amount of power between seats. I took off a star though because for the money, the amp should have a wireless remote (or Bluetooth) to control power, volume and balance. The wired remote does help with initial installation, but you have to get up and toggle buttons thereafter. Also, as others have said, you have no indication of your preferred volume level, which is important for when that setting is lost after a power outage.

If you are a serious home theater enthusiast you must have these Dayton Audio BSK2. I just purchased some for Christmas to add to my home theater set up and let me tell you it absolutely blows me away to now feel movies like never before. Just finished wrapping up watching Stranger Things and just could not believe how exciting and crazy these Bass Shakers made this movie so fun to watch. I then tested out the race scene in “Ready Player One” and OMG these bad boys had my whole body shaking and vibrating crazy while watching the race. Watched a small clip of Avatar 2 when the kid was being chased by this crazy big creature fish underwater… the shakers had me wig-gin out. I feel like I have been missing out on the real live action for so many years. Ever since I experienced it at the movies I was like I have to figure out how to add chair vibrations to my home chairs. Now glad I finally did it. I love it and my family loves it and it is definitely a home movie changer ! This system was easy to install everything worked great. I also decided to go with the Wave-link system 2.4 GHZ Full Range wireless pair system. This made setting up with no wires to the Receiver worked like a gem I was really surprised. After tweaking and adjusting things to get the perfect crossover I was up and rolling. The only small thing I wished Dayton Audio had is regular dials on the box to help better understand adjusting the settings. Instead of knobs you need a small screw driver to adjust back and forth and the volume knob has no - or + limit it just continues to rotate round and round which to me is odd. You have to just mess with it till it sounds right. I like that there is an off and on, and volume remote that you can connect to the box. I ran that switch to my seat so I can switch it on without no one seeing lol. Bass Shakers I was able to install on back of my chairs easy … it could be more challenging depending on your chair set up. All chairs are designed a little differently so might have to get creative. I plan on buying 2 more shakers to add to my other 2 chairs so other family and friends can enjoy this. If you want to take your movie experience to another level I strongly recommend this !!!

Worked perfectly for my home theater

Solid setup. Screwed the transducers into the frame of my couch. Plugged into my receiver as a sub. I did need to run longer speaker cable in my setup. Now we get bass-shaking action with our movies
