Lyga does it with a flow and an ease that makes you read with your heart cycling through light and heavy, light and heavy.I laughed out loud at the quirky thought processes of our main boy. I smirked happily at his puppy love. And then there was the guilt—the living with the memory hole of a lost sister—the voice waking him up at night—the trailer in the forest waiting with the promise of relief.This is a story to pick out of that treasure chest of amazing reads. It could easily be heartbreaking. It is the story of a 14 year old boy with an overwhelming problem: he was one of those toddlers around whom someone left a loaded gun. No one blames a four year old, except for himself. He has been the perfect kid for the years since. He is a sophomore taking senior level classes, clumsy but polite, able to pick up on subtle educated references.The kind of kid, you might want your daughter to date.Great kid, but...He has a plan to end the pain. Then he meets someone who takes him out of himself and into the creation of pizza! Pizza? Pizza can’t save his psyche. Actually only confrontations on several levels can save him.I didn’t cry much. Only half a dozen tears out of the outside corner of my left eye. Who could imagine that this story would be more heartwarming than heartrending. This book allows you to see inside your own mind as well as his as he expands the reader’s understanding of the human condition. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great book! *by M***A on Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2020* The book is amazing and I love how Barry Lyga Explores The topic of suicide because while it is interesting to learn about, its also quite frightening and very sad. Reading the book was difficult at first because I felt sorry for what happened to Sebastian as a child. I can’t imagine the anguish and pain he felt when he accidentally shot his baby sister. There was one point in the story where I cried a bit because of how much he must’ve hated himself, and how suicide was lingering in his mind.
