Review: So convenient, so nice, sounds great both in and out. - I love to stream to twitch, but I hate using a mic that's attached to the desk. Because of how much I move at the computer, I always find myself leaving the sweet spot of any desk attached microphone. Headsets work great for me, but outside of some sennheiser headsets, I found the mics were always lacking. That's when I tried the BPHS1 and after using them for almost a year, they have been PERFECT for me. The headset's themselves sound great. If you have used headsets like the Audio Technica M50x then the sound quality will be familiar to you. I'm happy with the way the mids and highs sound, and the bass has a very good punchiness to it. I really like the sound quality coming from them. Comfort wise I wasn't a fan of the smaller ear pads that came with the unit, and quickly purchased more pillowy pleather pads and have really enjoyed them. I plan on eventually getting the velour pads, but really haven't been in any rush as the pillow pads have been really comfortable for over 2000 hours of usage already. Be warned, the cable is long, and also heavy'ish, so it will snap a lot and also sometimes just feel in the way. I've rolled over it so many times which can be annoying, fortunately it hasn't been damaged yet. The kicker for this headset is the mic. I absolutely ADORE this mic. Because it's a dynamic mic, once you get it setup right, it has great sound isolation along always being in your sweet spot as you move around. It makes streaming SO much more convenient. While doing testing of the headset, my friend said it pretty much sounded like an Audio Technica At2020 or At2030 mic being used with the headset. After thousands of hours of twitch streaming, the mic still sounds and I get many compliments on how it sounds. The headset seems pretty expensive, but if you think how much it would be to purchase a At2030 along with a headset, the price is a lot more reasonable. I purchased 2 used ones from desertcart for about 60% the normal price and it really made them that much more worth it. One set is paired with a Rode Procaster and the other a Audient Evo 4 and both have been wonderful.
Review: I can speak clearly now... - This review is for Audio-Technica BPHS1 Broadcast Stereo Headset with Dynamic Cardioid Boom Mic. This product arrived on time and in great condition. I usually purchase the Sony MDR7506 Professional Large Diaphragm Headphones. And I still like them very much. However, recently I purchased a digital mixer that has an input for the recording studio technician to have a microphone to talk to the people being recorded. My old standby headphones do not come with a microphone, so I needed to look elsewhere. Many headphones that have attached microphones have 1/4 in phone plugs for the microphones instead of XLR. When I found these headphones, they had 1/4 in phone for the hearing part, but XLR for the microphone. That matches what my mixer calls for. The reviews sounded promising, so I decided to go for these. I am very glad that I did. The cord on this thing is sturdy. No flimsy cord here. And you can detach it when you store the headphones in the carrying case to keep from putting undo stress on the cable. The sound is great and the microphone has got sufficient volume for me. Not sure what the frequency response is for the microphone. It is of course not as great as my condenser mics that I use for recording, but those that I am recording do not have any problem understanding what I am saying to them. I do not run a professional sound studio. I have a recording studio in my house and I record anyone who would like to be recorded at a very reasonable price. So, I may not be able to give you a great comparison between all the headphones on the market, but I am very happy with my purchase here. If you want a more comprehensive comparison of headphones, consult a professional. However, if you are a home recorder like me, I think you will like these.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Hello there, I'm a big scrub at computer related things and I was wondering how would I connect this to my personal computer?**
A: This can easily hook up to your PC computer using a Scarlett Focusrite. That's what I have. The Scarlett 2i2 hooks up to your PC with a USB cable. I managed to setup 2 headsets for 2 people, and it works as an intercom system too, because the Scarlett has a little switch on it which provides live playback of your voice as you are speaking, so you can hear your own voice in your headphones, if you need to hear how you sound. By hooking up 2 pairs of headphones to the Scarlett, and 2 microphones, you have an intercom system for only $150, plus the cost of the cables, headphones, microphones, etc. You can either use separate microphones or built in headset microphones with the Scarlet. Other "USB preamps" will work just fine too, although Scarlett is the most well known, and considered the best for the price.

**Q: Will these fit on a large head?**
A: They fit my bigass head.

**Q: Can you put felt earpads on this headset?**
A: I'm sure you can. It has earpads just like Sony headsets. I have a Sony MDR-7506, and the earpads are the same size on this Audio-Technica as the Sony, must be standard.

**Q: Is the cabling used shielded and how well does it reject RF interference? I would use these in a radio transmitting environment.**
A: It appears the cabling is shielded. I have used it doing sports broadcasting, along with the use of wireless mics from the company that does the video for our high school sports teams. There is no interference with the other audio equipment we are using. Very happy with this headset.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Nice Headset
*by P***. on March 23, 2024*

I hesitated a bit buying this headset due to the price but did end up buying one. I am glad I decided to purchase this. The headset is well built, sounds great, and the mic performance is awesome. The headset is relatively lightweight so wearing it for long periods is not a problem. The headset has a long cord which is a big plus for me. The only thing missing is a 1/4" to 3.5mm adapter as I expect that many people (me included) will use the smaller audio connector. Bottom line - I would buy it again and would recommend it to others.
