My three cats used it immediately when the litter was inside and placed in the bathroom. I did not use the lid as my cats do not like covered litter boxes but it looks good even without the lid. The litter box is very easy to clean and litter does not stick on the sides or bottom. The high sides are a real plus. The cats are happy with their new bathroom.
