Very happy with this. It looks nice. Filled easily with no problems (so many of these mass produced lighters leak during filling, this one didn't). This isn't overly heavy like some lighters. Comfortable to put in a jacket pocket. Flame adjusts to wide range. No problem lighting. Flame is perfect soft flame for tobacco pipes. Pipe tools are sturdy, not the cheap bendy stuff I've seen on others. Overall very pleased. If it gives me any problems, I'll come back and change this review.

I like the look and feel of this lighter. The pipe tools are very handy. The weight of the lighter is similar to the old zippo's back in the day. I prefer the butane over the zippo's simply because anyone that has had a zippo leak in their pocket knows how uncomfortable that is. I also like how this lighter keeps the flame away from your fingers unlike conventional lighters. Flame length is easily adjustable. I wish the leather casing came in different colors such as tan or yellow as I prefer lighter leather over dark leather and also a choice between textured or smooth leather would be nice. Overall I am pleased with this lighter and I would recommend it for its functionality and quality.

This lighter is great for starting all types common, recreational fires such as small fires, big fires, grill fires, I'm cold fires, I need something to stare at while I try to hide my fear of the possibility of a pointless/indifferent universe from my family who just want to enjoy their camping trip....fires. Overall though, I was disappointed a bit because the gas refill port is the less common fitting that requires a special adapter or some MacGyver lighter improv that would most certainly void your sacred trust bond with The Creator. It is called The Warranty and I cannot tell you what you should do, but if I don't get that free gift for breaking my already terrible personal cyber security protocols to access their sketch website, I'm going to have to rethink these 4 generous stars. Actually I still haven't even gotten gas in it yet and I've had it for like 4 hours now. It only takes a few seconds for normal lighters. So 4 hours divided by a fewseconds divided, then add pie...and you get a pretty clear picture of how generous I really especially if you consider every other lighter I've bought came pre-filled with fires to start at any moment like a fire wizard. But also it's generous because I promised the Mrs a bonfire tonight and now I've spent an hour and half writing this review, seeing I'd anyone had same problem, and tryin to fill a lighter up with even just one measly little fire. All this so my kids can be given what eill now be a lesson in the why the Universe and any of its co-conspirators in coming to be, must be indifferent to us and know it's all a big cosmic joke because "look at what WILLIAM is spending HIS TIME on. Bet he usually thinks his life is important but he's too human brained to understand everything is that lighter. It's all the same but look, he's still trying to remember why he thought life had meaning blah blah blah I am a human and I am a meat tube who has emptions that are badically just an evolutionary shotgun blast of biochemistry we still cant escape because we are humans derrr. Nevermind actually, he found the 6 pack his wife got him. Touché William - just take a brake from the lighter . Hey Ctuchlu, you dont think life is only like Williams lighter do you? And you know I was just playing around, right? I know humans are much more pathetic than my mocking portrayed them to be but i started am improv class and now I've done homework, so we can totally go white dwarf star bowling now and destroy some of the more annoying galaxies or like whatever you want it's whatever I'm cool doing whatever."

If zero stars were an option, that’s what I’d rate it. I thought I loved it. It worked flawlessly every time I went to use it, right up until it didn’t. I’m now 5 days past the return window (that’s 35 days of potential use, but more like 8 uses total) and it’s stopped lighting. It will light off another flame, so the valve works fine. And it still sparks when I click it; it just won’t ignite as designed. Inspected it and found the gas nozzle has come free from its mount. You get what you paid for and this thing is cheap: don’t expect it to last. Pay a little more somewhere else for a superior product.

Overall, this Urgrette lighter is very good. PROS: It lights reliably and is good for lighting a pipe. The flame adjustment works fine -- just be sure you use the round dark ring (turn it with a slotted screwdriver) that surrounds the butane filling nozzle and not the tiny Phillips screw. CONS: When turning the lighter on its side to light a pipe, my thumb gets a little warm. Needs more butane every 2-3 days.

Updating: First, it doesn't hold much butane - or else it leaks. I can't say if it's just a tiny reservoir or if it leaks, but I had to refill it every time I wanted to use it. I probably smoke 5 pipes a week. 5 days in I'd used it 3 or 4 times, refilling every time, and it just stopped working. It took more work to light it every time, then it wouldn't light at all. The igniter stopped throwing a spark at all. On a whim (and because I'm stubborn) I gave it another try after a couple days, and it seemed to work. Go figure. At first I was going to return it, but I think I'll keep it for the time being. Not gonna be my favorite lighter though.

Pro: It's a good lighter for the money. When I'm using it, it is always convenient. The tools are spot on. I don't need to carry another tamper as long as I have this. Con: The flame adjustment is tricky. When it's full it's like a blowtorch. Then turn it down and it will only last a week of light use. Then it's back to adjusting the flame. The adjusting screw is circular around the fill nozzle. It's very hard to get a screwdriver in there, without slipping, to adjust the flame. If the adjustment was something like a thumb wheel it would be much easier to use. It would be a great EDC if it didn't have to be adjusted so much.

Update; Urgrette Customer Service reached out to me by email. They offered to replace the lighter or refund the cost, whichever I wanted, well after the 30 day return policy. All I had to do was grab the order ID from Amazon, take a picture of the lighter, and a brief description of the failure and email that back to them. I had my new lighter in my hand less than a week after returning Urgrette's email. 5 stars for Urgrette, I now have 3 of Urgrette's lighters and all 3 are great and Urgrette stands by their product...(Original complaint);...After 3 months the lighter malfunctioned and wouldn't turn off. I would return it if I could.

Really bad, do not buy.

The perfect butane pipe lighter. Clear filling instructions. Mine came MISDING THE TOOL SHOWN which is why 4 stars. Otherwise it is perfect. Nice weight, not heavy. Flame output is simple to control. I'll never return to Standard Z1ppo lighters; no fuel smell, no fussy replacing of parts. I use herbal mix only which is dryer than tobacco and this lights without burning.
