Recent studies have also shown Carvacrol, derived from oregano and thyme; thymol (thyme); citronellic acid (lemongrass); and eugenol (clove) are effective too. I hope this helps. **Q: Can this be used in a greenhouse where there are other plants** A: I don’t see why not. I use it in the house and I have house plants and they have survived. The rat had, I think been poisoned and soon was just a pile of fur and a nasty smell. Fast forward a couple years and I heard what I suspected to be rats chewing or scratching under the floor boards. I remembered this spray and half heartedly sprayed it round the 2 rooms where I’d heard the noises coming from. Imagine my delight when the spray and a bit of shouting saw them off. Either that or they are now soundlessly creeping about. I read online that peppermint is a deterrent to pigeons as they don't like the scent which led me to this product.Normally, pigeons roost on our upstairs bathroom window ledges from afternoon to early morning, leaving poo everywhere, specifically on our fron door step.
