When they get slimy or greasy, they are small enough to drop into the dishwasher silverware caddy. They do wear out, but they are so inexpensive, it's worth it. The edges are sharp enough to scrape off some very tough stuff, but the edges get too nicked over time. We had to use the stiff ones for a few years since I couldn't locate these anywhere else. I occasionally searched desertcart and they finally appeared! I plan to give them as part of a housewarming gift basket. They make nice stocking stuffers too for people who like to cook.
