You WILL need to buy Barkeeper's friend to keep this clean depending on what you cook with it (or baking soda and some diluted vinegar and water). Since it's stainless steel, it heats up pretty quick.This has been perfect for me to make eggs in and sautee some veggies. The key is patience so if you don't have that, probably don't bother. Been using this a couple months now and it still looks amazing. It has a thicker bottom and the handle is sturdy PLUS the lid is good for over easy eggs. It did stain underneath but that was my fault, and I'm not a stickler to keep everything neat besides the inside of the pan but I have seen that it's completely preventable. If you don't want scratches, do NOT use metal scrubbers.Protip: Ya gotta learn some science (Leidenfrost effect) esp if you plan to cook meats and fish on this. I was a little conflicted about a glass top, but it turns out that I love it. I fits very secure on the pan, washes well in the dishwasher, and is made of thick glass, so it is not flimsy. I use my pan on my induction unit because I really hate a full stove. I do not do cakes, pies, etc. that require an oven so my stove top is covered and not used at all and my oven is used for storing my pots and pans. I needed a pan this size for cooking eggs and small to medium portions for meals. The pan cleans up very easily. I use a metal coiled-type scrubber for the harder to remove cooked on remains, but the pan still looks almost new. I have been using stainless steel pots and pans for years and prefer them over the other types. Lately it seems that the sellers have realized that lots of us have graduated to induction, so there is more choices in induction-friendly cookware.
