Easy to install and so pretty!
Wish this “IPS Ready” screen was cut down more for laminated IPS screens (like the for the Hispeedido V5 screen i bought) but luckily the plastic is soft enough it cuts like butter! (Literally, I’ve never cut plastic so easily in my life without heating up the blade! 10/10 for trimming!!) This took my GBA from nasty and used to beautiful clear purple! I think my favorite Part is that it’s the exact same purple as my switch 2 so now everything matches! Highly recommend!

Awesome dying project!
I got this clear shell to experiment around with dying a full GBA shell. This shell does not disappoint! I will go more into the method I used further in this review, but I want to cover the normal stuff first. The first and biggest thing that most are probably wondering is if these have good fitment. They absolutely are perfect fitment. Unlike other cheap 3rd party shells, these have been made from the ground up and are not just cheap clones. Once fully assembled, I saw no discernable gaps and everything was solidly in place. A quick tip to ensure the best performance from the screws is to do some prefastening. What I mean is fasten the screws onto their intended posts prior to a full assembly (please make sure to note where they're suppose to go). If you encounter a lot of resistance, back the screw up and use compressed air to dislodge any debris in the post). The point of doing this is due to the screws tapping the threads in the post as they go. Normally self tapping screws are not an issue and can be fastened for final assembly but I noticed these use softer screws. To prevent unnecessary wear on the heads I used this method and the screws secured in perfect condition during the final assembly. In terms of feel and functionality, these shells are better than the OEM ones by a decent margin (granted you don't rush your assembly and destroy your hardware). The membranes are firm but good and the fact that the start and select are actually plastic buttons makes them feel a LOT more responsive. Now for those of you curious why this army green (though my camera is not the best at capturing this) is not a color present in the selection. This is because I used rit dyemore to make the shell this color. You can use one of two methods to accomplish this, boiling or diluted acetone. I went with the latter and let me say this here. If you don't know how to do this method, don't do it. Examples of this method can be found with dying ABS yoyos and are on YouTube. This method requires you be in a well ventilated environment, proper respiratory protection and a working understanding of concentrates. The summary of this is that you use heavily diluted acetone (water+acetone) along with a dye combination that you like to open up the pores in the ABS plastic. This essentially lets the dye molecules leech into the ABS without damaging the plastic. Its worth noting that the level of dilution is generally so high that the normal chemical melting reaction almost doesnt occur. You will notice this if you touch the surface of the plastic as it wont even be tacky/sticky. The end result can be as subtle or intense depending on the duration. Once this desired result has been achieved place all dyed parts in a bucket of water. Taking a single part at a time, you use an airgun to displace any remaining liquid till the entire part is perfectly dry. This step is crucial otherwise transparent plastic can get an uneven frosted finish due to acetone seperating from the water as it dries and then settling on the surface. Just like with the boiling/heated method, if done incorrectly this will ruin the shells integrity.

Great quality products at great price. 👍👍
First off I LOVE THE ATOMIC PURPLE!! Okay, I purchased the atomic purple shells for both the game boy advance and the advance SP as I had both of those and they were in pretty rough condition being my daily use when I was a kid. I had gotten other shells only to quickly return them as the quality was subpar and/or missing parts. I came across extreme rate when doing a Google review for shells and noticed they were sold on Amazon quickly purchased the atomic purple shells for myself and when they arrived I was SURPRISED 😯 just holding half of the shell for the game boy advance I noticed the quality was immediately leagues better than the many others I had previously purchased. I then opened SP shell package and to my surprise the quality was exactly the same. Really great quality had all the parts necessary. Sadly I regret not having taken it before picture of the poor states of my old gamboys, but the end product is just AWESOME!! Thank you for such good quality products and for also providing the tri-wing screwdriver required. I DEFINITELY recommend these shells to anyone looking to give their Gameboys a Quality refreshed newer look.

Does not fit 3in laminated IPS panel
The color and clarity of this shell is much more dull than the pictures. The transparency of the shell is cloudy and the color just isn't as vibrant as I thought it would be. The shell is not compatible with a laminated screen. The border for the screen is too small to fit the laminate. This shell is also not compatible with 3in screens. Unlike the original shell, this shell can not even fit the original screen. To install a 3in screen panel, like the original screen, a significant portion of the shell would need to be trimmed. In my photos, the 2nd photo is the shell on top of my original GBA. Even completely trimming out the back to the border, this shell will not fit the original screen, nor a laminated 3.0in screen panel. I do not intend to talk badly about this product. This shell isn't a bad shell. I am just hoping to help others avoid buying this is they intend to use a 3in screen panel or a laminated screen.

Fantastic!
I love this shell! The plastic feels high quality and I love the matte texture. However there are some small problems I ran into. One of the screws stripped but considering there are fourteen screws on this thing it’s not a big deal (plus it comes with some extra screws!) I’ve had some bad experiences putting OEM screws in aftermarket shells so I wanted the try the included ones. The screen lens is a tad small for the funnyplaying ips kit but again, not a big deal. And the funnyplaying buttons fit perfectly. Plus I used a funnyplaying battery compartment door which also worked. Overall, a great shell!

Cool shell upgrade and new screen
It was pretty plug and play. I’d recommend watching a YouTube video all the way through. The ribbon cable can be sensitive if you don’t know what you’re doing. I swapped out the shell to my childhood gba and man it makes it look brand new. My old screen was scratched and glad this one came with a new screen too

Loud, but looks nice.
Looks really nice, however, the A and B buttons are extremely loud when pressing. Not so good for silent gaming. If you want everyone within the next three rooms of the house to know you're gaming on your decked out GBA, then this is a great fit.

First Time Buyer
Very satisfied with this shell kit. This was my first extremerate shell, and as someone that's worked on a good handful of GBs and GBAs I was really impressed! For the price and swift delivery it is incredible. The color is a little more clear than original Glacier Blue GBA, but the difference is negligible to me. I look forward to trying out other extremerate shells in the future!

Perfetto
Prodotto qualitativamente molto soddisfacente.Il guscio veste la console come l’originale.I gommini che vanno a contatto con la mainboard sono un po’ più spessi degli originali e questo restituisce un feel migliore alla croce direzionale e ai pulsanti.Davvero ben fatto!

Great and easy to install
Product is sturdy when assembled and the clear colour lets you see all the components inside. Assembly can be a little tricky however many guides can be found online. Would definitely get again if I was to change the colour of my gba
