I got the size recommended for my height and weight, I thought it was loose at first then realized it was perfect. you do not want it tight if you are going to wear it for a while. This should not be tight like a back brace, this should feel like the elastic waist in your shorts not too tight but not loose and have your shorts fall. I use it to do chores around the house and now using it to work.
