Very well built, and packaged well for a heavy ship. - This was a bit of a leap of faith, since my application is not 'standard' in the trailer hitch world. I studied for weeks for a lower capacity load leveling hitch that would handle my small travel trailer (3000 lb, Casita) without overdoing it. There were anecdotal stories, but not detailed ones that the Equal-i-zer was the ticket. I finally chose it for one reason only, and it is only true of this specific model I believe. Most hitches require that the torsion bars attach around 32" back from the hitch ball. On my trailer that was square in the middle of the LP tanks. On this model, they allow the attach point to be as close as 25.5" inches to the ball. This does, I believe lower it's ability to load-level, but is proving about perfect for my rig. I'm yet to take a long journey, but a couple of short ones appear to be working fine. It does make a good bit of noise. I have bought their special lubricant, but haven't applied it yet. I would point out that I ended up making about 3 calls to customer service, and found them to be exceedingly knowledgeable and helpful. My concerns were addressed as good as anyone could have expected in what must be a difficult job. Another lesson I've learned is that while today's micro travel trailers do fit the weight profile of a lot of mid-size SUV's, most have independent rear suspension and will sink very low with tongue weight. The load leveling hitch is, I believe, the solution I need to keep my front wheels firmly planted to the ground. Review: IMPORTANT - No spring bars included anymore! - This particular model did not ship with the weight distributing spring bars (torsion bars). I got the hitch head and parts (less the ball), the clips for the spring bar, everything necessary but the 32 inch spring bars themselves. I do not believe the shortage was an oversight. I ordered more than one of the hitches and all arrived with the same set of parts. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great weight distribution hitch. *by R***. on July 15, 2014* I recently purchased this hitch to go on my 19ft travel trailer that I pull with my honda van. I am not sure if it is the design of this hitch or the design of the trailer but pulling the trailer is effortless. I drove from florida to the grand canyon and back and there wasn't a single hiccup. The only difficulty with the hitch is getting it set up correctly. I read through the manual many times to make sure I understood it and then installed the hitch. The hitch has three different adjustable points. The hitch height is adjustable to make sure the trailer is level. The hitch pitch, or angle, is adjustable to increase the amount of weight distribution taking place. The last adjustable points are the two sway bar mounts that are on the trailer. These can be adjusted up or down to also help change the amount of weight distribution taking place. The equalizer helped me regain about two inches of height from the back of the van and made the trailer not sway. The only three possible negatives I can think of are that the unit is loud because of the way the sway bar slides on the sway bar mounts, the unit is heavy so it adds to my tongue weight and the unit takes a few minutes to install and take down each time I hook up the trailer. To me these are easily outweighed by the benefit of the hitch. Some people might care about these things so I thought I would mention them.
