A: I bought it for my nephew, he used regular pop, but I imagine any liquid would work.

**Q: After leaving it in the freezer overnight does is it supposed to freeze the ice pack solid or is it supposed to stay a gel so that you can squeeze?**

It is best to freeze it into a solid, because keeping the core cool will result in more solid slush.
If you freezer overnight, the white part inside is not manageable to squeeze, you can let it melt half an hour on the counter while, then after letting it sit and pushing on the blue part Squeezing and squeezing finally achieved a slush liquid you want.

**Q: What did I do wrong? I put the cup in the freezer overnight, poured in zero sugar pepsi. Froze solid before first squeeze.**

It is right to put the cup in the refrigerator for the night.
But you need to use the sugary drink, need make sure whatever you’re pouring into it is cold. 
And squeeze the cup with your fingers for 1-3 minutes, until you reach the desired milkshake concentration.
