So I came from a moto edge 2021 so technically spec wise this phone is a downgrade since the edge comes with 8gb ram and 256gb and this one the moto g stylus comes with 6gb ram and 128gb storage. I honestly don't notice any difference between the two. Yes this model isn't 5g but i didn't care for that as i wanted to either fix the screen of my moto edge which i broke the first day i got (fell out the car) but i used it till earlier this April 13th and i got that phone on 1/10/23. One advantage is i have up to 512gb micro SD storage if i shall please and that's something i didn't have with the old phone. So i lost NFC payments, big deal cause I rarely used that feature anyways. As for the fingerprint sensor, it works flawlessly on the moto g stylus but i did have much trouble with it on the edge. Battery life on this phone is great. I don't expect it to last forever but it last me easily an entire day and not two days like promised but then again I'm on this phone constantly. Screen is great, same as the moto edge 2021 i had same screen actually. This is a nice phone, if you don't care for 5g, but want a good phone at the current price of $169 it can't be beat which is why I jumped on it and with additional credit i had on my Amazon account my total cost for this phone was $121 i couldn't resist it. I have no regrets and love this phone. I also loved the moto edge but this one is just as good technically a downgrade from what I had but still good. I would recommend this phone. Gaming haven't had problems. 90hz refresh rate is ok old one had 144hz but i can't notice the difference.

Great battery life. Can last all day lots leftovers, maybe a few days of light use. Trying it a new Motorola phone since the droid days. The droid was quite the phone back then, and it's too bad the company was not able to keep up making great phones. I would say for this around one hundred price, this is a great phone. Lots of fun gesture features and the screen is very good. Crystal clear and good colors. The camera is meh, though. If they could put a better camera in future phones that takes pictures similar to Pixel/AAPL/Samsung, then you'd have an amazing winner. Just to note, it is rather large for a phone. The stylus function is convenient, but not a wow factor. I can take notes on it just fine, but it does have a tinge of lag.

Works well

Coming from a Samsung galaxy note 5 which originally cost $1000 plus is a step down at the $179 sale price. This was a $300 phone! My trusty note 5 was a wonder for the 7 years it lasted. Android system stopped updating at android 7. Storage was only 32 GB/4 ram memory which was probably a lot 7 years ago. The battery started draining faster and it kept rebooting itself frequently. No troubleshooting fixed it. The moto g stylus does almost everything the note 5 did but not as well. Almost everything involves using Google account. Had to navigate numerous settings to get to what I like. Face recognition is really great but only works half the time so I use pin as finger print set up did not like my dry skin fingers. The chop, chop gesture for flash light was cool but stopped working after several uses. Mostly wanted another stylus as I use for on the fly notes. Pen is NOT as good as Samsungs but better than nothing. Everything transferred over via Google account. Only Samsung notes and pictures of my contacts flowed over. I have not yet found a way to connect a photo to my contacts which uses google. One thing I don't like is it mixes my Alexa reminders with text messages. Not separated like samsung. To its advantage it has a bigger battery which lasts longer but..no fast charging. Limited to 10 watt charger. No wireless charging but it does have SD card for extra storage and headphone jack which many higher end phones are doing away with. If you know what you need and do your research, this phone is a great value. It will not get updates for 5 years like Samsung phones but cost so much less and meets my needs. I keep it in a wallet type case to protect it.

Update: Got Android 13 (after Android 14 came out), security updates have been consistent ( every 3 months), touch screen still works well, lot's of storage left. Software is great, love my moto! Upgraded from a MotoG Power 2021 to the Moto 2022 Edge and the difference is night and day. I am 3 weeks with it and I seriously like this phone. Being so thin and light weight is a huge plus. It fits in my pocket or work vest easier and doesn’t feel like it’s dragging me down., I use it to clock in & out with my work app, watch video’s at break, texts, phone calls etc. Reception and voice quality is much better. . I’m really, really impressed with this phone. It just works. Pro’s: It’s fast (for me)! It’s slender and light, this is a huge like. I was worried about the finger print sensor, it works great so far. The display is bright and crisp. Reception and voice quality is very much better. Battery life is great, it will last 2 days of light use & easily get thru a day of heavy use (for me). Camera is a huge upgrade and fun to use. Motorola software is easy to use, and finally, they’re promising extended software updates. Con’s: It’s slender and light, and feels fragile. I don’t want to try a back pocket test, cause I’m paranoid about sitting on it. Poor water & dust rating,I really wish this was better. No expandable memory (256 GB is plenty for me so meh). Cost nearly 3 times as much as the phone it replaced (and worth it). Update 8-20-25 Just got android 15 update. Happy surprise. Still love this phone.

I purchased this phone to replace my almost four-year-old LG V30 which is a 4G phone that was starting to show signs of giving out and as such decided to get this one as it was on sale at the time of purchase. I am very happy with my purchase as I am able to use my 4G sim card in this 5G phone and to my surprise, I noticed a huge difference in Internet speed between the two phones. Just to confirm, I ran a speed test using a speed test app and was able to get over 400Mbps download and around 50Mbps upload. What I also like about this phone is that it has Wi-Fi calling so that I do not have to worry about poor signal as the pone can do calls and text over Wi-Fi. The battery on this phone is great as well as I am able to go about 5 days without having to charge it, but I do not use it much except for calling, texting, and going on various apps from time to time during the day. Call quality on this phone is wonderful as I have been able to hear others clearly and they have said the same to me and so far I have had not one dropped call. This phone is fast as well as I notice no stuttering while going from app to app thanks to this phone having 8GB of memory. The fingerprint reader is very responsive, and you will sometimes have to using an alternate measure such as a pin to unlock your phone from the lock screen, but I see this a good thing so its not annoying to me. Bottom line, if you are looking for a new phone and wondering if you can use your 4G sim card and have great performance on a 5G phone, then this phone will give you just that.

I just received this unlocked phone 2 days ago and trying it out as my daily driver. I've been a One Plus user for quite a few years until the 9/9pro and Android 12 debacle. On to the Moto Edge. I will say that Moto has a interesting take on Android. (It's just a little different from what I'm used to.) I feel that OP has a better skin or lack there of (which is a good thing) over the Moto Edge. The phone has a nice screen and color reproduction. I really like the stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos. The phone does reproduce sound (music and video) well and has some volume to it. The phone does not have a headphone jack so wired users are outta luck here. The call quality and clarity is very good on the T-Mobile network no dropped calls. Now.....the cameras. I myself am not looking to run a photo studio from my phone. So as long as the phone takes good photos then I'm fine with it and it seems to do just that. The battery life is good not great. The battery will not last 2 days with HEAVY usage so don't expect it to. However, the turbo charge 30w is pretty quick to top it up along with the option of wireless and reverse wireless charging. The phone only includes the charging cable, no charging brick. So far my only complaints is that it doesn't offer micro SD card expansion, which I knew when I purchased and the volume rockers and power buttons are on the same side of the device, which takes some getting used to.. In conclusion, the phone is a midrange device and it's specs and pricing reflect that. It's not a flagship/flagship killer and don't expect it to be. Just from my short time with it, I can say that it's a well rounded midrange device that deserves a look. Don't forget a UBG case and a tempered glass screen protector for this phone. Edit:. Only had this phone for 3 days and it failed! Had over 80% charge in it. It was fine when I last looked at it. I pulled it out of my pocket and it wasn't on. Tried turning it on..... nothing! Put power to the phone and tried to restart.....nothing! It was a complete hardware failure. Returned for a refund to buy another device. Demoted to 1 star. Edit:. I received my refund.....finally! WTF took so long Amazon?🤔 I did purchase a BLU f91 as a stop gap, which I reviewed here as well. After looking a other devices, specs, and reviews, I decided to give Motorola and this device 1 more chance. I really hoping it was just a fluke that the first one failed after 3 days. We'll see in the next couple of days. I just received the new replacement. We'll see if this one can get past 3 days of normal usage. Again, will edit if anything new comes up.

Pros – Nice and snappy(good job Mediatek) Screen is responsive, 120 & 144Hz are nice Fingerprint sensor is very accurate Cameras were good, even ultrawide(see samples) Very light compared to my G Stylus 2021 Moto Gestures as always Cons – OLED not as nice as I would think compared to my Moto G Stylus 2021 OIS not very good in video mode Battery life not great without turning off 5G and switching to 60Hz Ready For does NOT work as advertised Conclusion – While it had some nice features, I returned it.* I don’t exactly why this caught my eye but I knew I wanted to stay within Motorola, hoping they would release something with better cameras. I decided to on this one despite the lack of reviews, the Edge+ with Snapdragon processor being the more reviewed by a 5 to 1 but also more expensive. The reviews on this phone resulted in everyone being surprised how well the Mediatek processor worked as it is know as a more budget brand so performance is usually lacking but in the Edge it worked surprisingly well. This thing was very light, so light I kept wondering if it was fake or had no battery. It was real and worked fine on Mint Mobile, the only thing missing was Wi-Fi calling which I could get on my G Stylus. I was almost considering a Pixel 6A for the cameras but read it had other problems, one main thing being the fingerprint sensor. Not wanting to give up my Moto gestures, I went with the Edge. It’s in-screen fingerprint sensors works great and had no problems with accuracy or speed. Overall, I was pleased with the cameras, both the 50MP main and the 13MP ultrawide. You can see the photos I uploaded. I’m not a huge camera buff and looking at sample pictures before I purchased, I couldn’t tell a whole lot of difference between an iPhone, Pixel or this phone but watching a blind test on YT for the sensor used in this phone, it was nearly last place. Where I really did not like the phone was the OIS(optical image stabilization) when taking video. The video did not look any different than my G Stylus that does not have stabilization. As far as the screen. Yes, very nice and it was responsive. It was bright. It just wasn’t OMG, I finally got an OLED screen. I’m not sure why tech reviewers bash regular LCD screens. Again, it was not leaps and bounds beyond the screen on my G Stylus. Another side affect, was using the refresh rate in 144Hz or Auto mode decreased battery life which is to be expected. I changed it to 60Hz and even at that setting I still think it eked out snappiness over my G Stylus. Very smooth even at 60Hz imo. As far as battery life, when I first got it I thought it drained pretty quick. I turned the screen refresh to 60Hz and turned off 5G(I really don’t notice a whole lot of difference between LTE and 5G) then it was much better imo. I did not do structured tests so take this battery life opinion with a grain of salt. *Where this really failed and where I fell for Motorola advertising was the Ready For mode. It is supposed to activate automatically when plugging in a USB C to HDMI connector. I tried a Tisofu multi adaptor with HDMI and an Anker USB C to HDMI dongle. Neither was recognized. Only one reviewer showed this working and was not using the Motorola Ready For dock(that costs sixty bucks) but he was using the Edge+ which has a Snapdragon processor not this phone with its Mediatek processor. He did not provide the brand of HDMI adaptor in the video but it was clear he was not using the official Motorola dock. I then downloaded the Ready For application for Windows. This allowed me to connect my phone wirelessly to my Windows 10 PC. Least to say, it was underwhelming. I can open Chrome, Photos, Google Search, some other apps but not any video apps as you would get a black screen. But what is the point of this? I’m already on my PC so can do a lot of that. Since it was wireless and had some lag, there was no point gaming. I then tried connecting a USB C to USB 3.1 to my PC to get a wired connection. Again, I’ve seen someone do this on the Edge+. When I plug it in, using the drop-down menu from the top of the screen, you can goto the USB Mode and there is an option to select, say from "No data transfer" to "Ready For". Ok, now we are getting somewhere. I went ahead and chose Ready For usb mode expecting a better and faster wired connection. Nope, starting the Desktop mode, it just connected wirelessly again. As mentioned above, I had tried a wired connection with no luck. This was tried on an Asus monitor and a HiSense TV. As I’ve seen in videos and some moderators on the Motorola forum mentioned, you just need to plug it in and it starts automatically. No choosing USB modes or starting any app on the phone. Well, that didn’t work for me. Motorola does sell a dock but no where in there marketing videos or within the Ready For app(where you can click a link called Learn more) do they mention this is a strict requirement for this mode to work. I'm not spending another 60 dollars to test this. I then decided to try to connect wirelessly to see what devices the phone would detect. It did not detect any of my TVs but it did show all of my Roku devices. Searching on Miracast and Roku, I found Roku added Miracast functionality as far back as Roku 3 so about 2014, 2015. I also found out it is not a well developed standard and most people end up buying Microsoft’s dedicated Miracast wireless dongle. Well, my phone did connect to my Roku Streambar…ONCE and never again. Each subsequent attempt just timing out after 30 seconds. I did find others have experienced the exact same issue on this phone. End result, I may have kept the phone but I do not like deceptive advertising. I will be returning this phone and keeping my G Stylus. Motorola still has great value but overall, I just wasn’t wowed by this newer phone compared to what I had and I don’t like when companies use false advertising and ambiguous requirements for a supposedly stand-out feature. Motorola needs to more strictly define the conditions under which Ready For works. I’ve uploaded a main camera pic, ultra-wide pic, low-light main camera pic and a video showing the failed attempts to connect to the Roku Streambar. Congrats if you actually read all of this.

Funciona bien para redes en México (Telcel), la batería tiene buena duración y no se calienta en exceso, es bastante fluido y está muy completo para ser un equipo a no muy alto costo. Único detalle, a veces se nota una sombra morada en los colores negros, desconozco si es un detalle del equipo o la actualización, pero no es molesto, a penas se nota, no interrumpe nada que se esté visualizando, es únicamente al deslizar, muy leve.

Ya tengo varios meses de usarlo y no me ha fallado. Solo una vez que no apague y lo encendí de nuevo se colgó, pero mantuve oprimido el botón de encendido unos segundo y se reinició sin problema.
