Hidden Storage bos for honda Civic

update 2: I don’t know how people are having issues with this sticking. it’s gone through multiple years in Florida and I’m worried about how to actually get it out to replace since the latch no longer holds. update: still love this thing but after twoish years, the latch has started to become loose and opens if I close the console lid too hard. other than that, no issues whatsoever and I’ll definitely replace it when it gets worse if I can figure out how to remove the first one. simple but kinda genius. I’ve had this about a month now. it fits perfectly in the console lid of my 2021 civic. it’s not “secret” per se - I’m sure someone would notice it if they were looking. I’ve not had any issues with it falling down even in the Florida heat but if it does, no big deal, it can easily be readhered. it fits small items perfectly and is a great utilization of space.

Found out about this additional compartment that could be added to my 2019 Honda Insight. It's a nifty little spot that you know about and can be used to store various thin items such as cash, credit cards, and things of that nature. As others have mentioned, the adhesion of the provided tape on the compartment is quite awful and doesn't stick at all so you will have to buy some 3M double-sided tape so that it sticks better. The tape provided is only on the outside and within a month or so, the compartment is starting to fall off so might as well rip the provided tape off and replace it. Overall though, it's nice to have a compartment for sensitive items.

The storage fits properly into the slot where its supposed to go. But I gotta be completely honest here, for 2 things. The first is the adhesive strips that are already on there are terrible. No matter how well you clean off the area prior to placing the storage (I used alcohol, allowed it to air dry. Then used a little bit of heat over the adhesives to enhance the stickiness of it). It held up, until the next day. The storage was completely off of the armrest. So, I had some 3M double sided tape laying around and I used that on top of the adhesive strips that was already on the storage and then sandwiched that in between the armrest area and THAT worked out great. If you plan on going that route, I dont think you'll need to remove the adhesive strips that already came on the storage. It'll leave some reside and then you'll need to really clean that off after and also it still needs some type of padding in between this storage and the armrest area where this is being installed to sit flush. And last, the door to the storage "feels" cheap. As if you can break the locking tab easily if you're constantly opening that area. So if you do, just be careful with that.

Keeps falling off and does not fall in place correctly even used my own double sided tape and still can’t get the stash box to stay stuck the tape they give is useless That was for this one. But my first one I bought fit snug and 3m tape worked like a charm product concept isn’t bad but sometimes you may get one that is made perfect and sometime not I guess it’s the luck of the draw and yes it supposed to go to a civic under armrest 10th gen

I bought one of these back in 2021 and it’s still going strong. The trick is to first wipe the underside of the cover with isopropyl alcohol to remove any dirt or substance that will prevent good adhesion. Second, after peeling off the adhesive protectors, use a lighter to heat up the adhesive (just a quick pass will do) to increase its stickiness. This is especially important when installing in a cold environment. Is this a game-changing item? No. But you will get an extra, semi-hidden storage space in your car which is always great.

Fits great. Only two issues is that it’s cheap plastic so it could break easily and the adhesive is not strong so even if you’re careful with it it tends to fall off

This product is a great addition to any 10th gen civic! It takes a space that has absolutely no function, and gives you extra storage. Plus, it's even hidden! Install is very simple, takes maybe a minute if you take your time. It is secured with double sided tape, they also include extra just in case it's ever needed. Just make sure the area is clean and dry before installation. I wiped mine down with an alcohol prep pad as well just to make sure there were no oils or anything on the surface. The storage size is obviously limited by the location, but this compartment is perfect for spare cash or change, credit cards, etc. All in all, this has got to be not only the best, but the most functional 16-21 civic mod under $10. I would highly recommend this to anyone who does not yet have one!

I bought this in May 2025 for my 2018 Civic, and it truly fits like a glove. I love the idea behind the product, and installation is simple since there’s no real assembly required, just adhesive tape. That said, the biggest issue is that it will not stay adhered. If you live anywhere in the south, be sure to remove the tape that comes with it. It will not hold and will fall off, especially in the heat. I’ve spent the last 10 months going through hell with it repeatedly falling off. I’ve tried multiple fixes, including purchasing my own tape and glue, but nothing has worked long-term. I initially used a 3M roll of tape from Walmart, which wasn’t strong enough, and then upgraded to 3M Scotch 5952 VHB tape. Even after double layering it, the hold has still been unreliable. Overall, while the fit is perfect, the adhesion just doesn’t hold up, especially in warmer climates like Georgia. I’ll continue testing and update if anything changes, but so far it hasn’t performed as expected. Photo is after adhering it for the 20th time in 10 months.
