Core components include inclined, rotatable head; in-base illuminator; and disc diaphragm. Fluorescent illumination provides whiter light with longer bulb life and virtually no heat buildup. Quality DIN** optics include widefield 10x pointer eyepiece. 4x, and 10x, and 40x objective retracts to prevent possible slide damage. Focus mechanism has seperate coarse and fine adjustments; incorporates travel stops and a slip clutch to protect slide, objectives, and focus mechanism. Locked-on eyepiece and stage clips. Size. 14 inches H x 5 inches W x 6-1/2 inches D; weight, about 7 lbs.
